Only makes you wait ONE month!

I genuinely, genuinely did not think Edamura and Serpilia were going to get along over the course of the game given how their interactions started out. Not that I was against that, since I love negative CR, so I was ready to embrace what I thought was happening.

As a normie it makes sense that Edamura was kind of dismissive about people with strange appearances, and I was ready for it given the same thing happened to Lessing back in the second teen round. Calling her a cosplayer and thinking she was weird for taking the bit too far made a lot of sense coming from him, though in turn for her where these sort of traits are normal and expected, feeling weirded out by someone treating her as strange also made sense. They were both not incorrect in thinking the other was a little odd given their own backgrounds, but the way that it had them immediately like "wow look at this fucking guy" about each other was a delight.

That Edamura was like scrutinizingly staring at her during spin the bottle (I assume probably him starting to realize that her features weren't just props) made it seem even more like they were going to have this sort of ongoing contentious relationship.

And then he apologized to her and was pretty open and honest about his assumptions and mistakes, and the CR suddenly flipped around in a way I didn't expect, but was equally delighted by. Edamura, normie boy that he is, going from being really dismissive of her to hesitantly wanting to touch her halo/wings when offered the chance made her warm up to him pretty fast as she realized he was actually a pretty sweet guy who had just (JOINTLY!! she's also at fault!!) fumbled their first interaction together.

It made her relax a lot around him, and approach him in a different way. Suddenly there was this guy who was friendly and funny, and fairly easy to tease and talk to, and it was a much nicer interaction than before where she would pull her ":) I see you watching me, buddy" number, and she genuinely had a good time spending time with him. The fact that he caught on quickly to the feelings she'd accidentally caught for Ringo and Furina, and gently talked to her about them in private lifted a huge weight off of her shoulders she hadn't realized was there, and the fact that he was willing to let her choose him for the ceremony equally made life much easier for her.

At first she genuinely did buy most of his act too. Edamura says he's looking for something real with a spark to it? Sure! Why wouldn't he be? But their talk in the later half of the show where he admitted more of what he really felt about things made some sense to her too. I think in part because despite finding love in the show, Serpilia herself isn't a natural romantic, and so the idea of love at first sight is just lust at first sight in her eyes. You build up something more from there, but her idea of a spark was more physical and wanting than it was the sort of whirlwind feelings of sweet love that some people think about.

It did lead to her very briefly thinking that Edamura was ace, but look it all got cleared up quickly and she better understood where he was coming from. Since he shared a secret with her, she was willing to share a secret with him too, that she'd come to the show neither for a wish or romance, but because it she was investigating a suspicious invitation at the request of her place of work. While she was treating the whole thing like a vacation as much as she could, she didn't expect to get anything out of it, and I think that created sort of a stronger bond of connection and understanding between Serpilia and Edamura.

That he also managed to find love in the end did delight her though. Two people coming to the show not expecting to find it at all despite how their early behavior might have indicated something contrary, and they managed to actually find something real here. It helped that Serpilia liked Rom a lot, and saw a lot of practicality in his behavior that she thought would bounce off of Edamura well, but the way Edamura was so genuine about his pursuit of Rom really touched her deeply.

The long short of it is they went from uncomfortable strangers to really good friends, and Serpilia thinks so highly of Edamura, and is hoping only good things come his and Rom's way in the future, or more realistically that the two of them overcome the bad things that happen, and have more happy days than miserable ones.

You will also not have to wait a full two months!

So as sad as it is to say, I will confess that Serpilia was actually pretty unimpressed when Rom at first sight. He has very intentionally crafted this image of himself as an odd, seedy conman (the weird uncle vibes), and the initial vibes he puts down were not ones that Serpilia was picking up. She likes her men very beefy and strong looking, a little rugged like they've been roughing it a bit, and Rom looks a little rough in a very different kind of way.

However, despite how he looks at a glance, Rom is actually a very courteous man, and Serpilia started to realize that pretty quickly. When he came over to kiss her during spin the bottle he was very polite and clearly trying to be careful and not cross boundaries with her. If anything, she crossed boundaries with him instead by being a lot bolder, and seemed just a little cuter after that by being somewhat flusterable. That was when Serpilia started to like him as a person just a little, and started to put the goth aesthetic of his that she found strange aside.

Unfortunately time is hard to balance, so they never got to have the full conversations we had planned, but they did still get to know each other a little better on their first date, and every conversation Serpilia had with Rom did make her like him a little more. She did want to murder him just a little when trying to decide who to pick for the second matching ceremony when Edamura had just pulled a "let's talk for a moment" number on her, and Rom IMMEDIATELY DID THE SAME THING, but she was quickly able to appreciate why he was pulling her aside for that.

Rom was really upfront with her quickly about how he was approaching this whole thing, and while he wasn't exactly keeping it a secret from anyone, she did still appreciate his candor of what he wanted out of this experience, and also appreciated that he trusted her enough to work with him in making it happen. It did mean that even when he tried to be sweet to her later that she entirely misunderstood him, and assumed he was playing a role to move on to business.

Despite the fact that she did realize Rom was a very polite man and had a more genuine side to him, I think Serpilia never quite understood the depths of some of that genuineness because the veneer still stayed present in her mind, and she assumed he was perhaps a tad more business than he was.

Her impression of him overall was that he was a well meaning guy who came in with a specific goal in mind, and maybe wasn't all that acclimated to things like romance and dating. Because he puts up a front to protect himself, she found him harder to read and took some of his behavior more at face value than she might have if she'd had more time to get to know him. She did know there was definitely some degree of a front there though just based on how poorly he handled the ghost situation, and how quickly he turned to alcohol as a way of trying to deal with what was going on there. Though she didn't want to pry into people's business, I think that was her one time of really seeing right past the calm front that he puts on and seeing the obvious hurt that was there.

While she doesn't know his full story or everything he's gone through, she did get to know Edamura too during her time, and really likes the guy. He seems to be pretty grounded and willing to accept blame when he is at fault, and she's hoping that he will be a good person to help Rom with whatever baggage (literally) haunts him. The seem like a good mix to her from Rom's very even keel demeanor, and Edamura's big, loud feelings, and she ended up being really happy for them when something started between them despite the fact that neither man came there really looking for romance.

And she will absolutely do a guest appearance on Rom's youtube channel if he ever asks her.

Serpilia immediately liked Shoko's vibes. Day one a beautiful woman makes her a drink and makes sure to make it on the sweeter side for her because of her taste? Instant winner, and Serpilia was excited to get to know her better.

Early on Shoko struck her as a little bit of a tease herself, doing things like acting like she was going to kiss Serpilia on the forehead before switching it up and pressing one on her lips, and being comfortable being touchy with Serpilia the same way Serpilia was happy to be touchy with her. Shoko was extremely easy and very fun to flirt with, and Serpilia found herself having a really good time with Shoko.

But it just took one little ghostly reveal to find out that she'd really been through some things. It didn't take a genius to figure out the whole point of the apparitions was to make people talk about themselves and their past, or even possibly their present. For the most part, Serpilia really didn't want to pry when she stumbled across people looking at their ghosts. Given her own came with absolutely no baggage involved on her end, it felt extra crappy to get a peek into someone else's trauma without her own really being offered up.

Shoko, however, volunteered information about what Serpilia was seeing with those roughhousing boys, and so Serpilia listened. Without having to pry, she learned that Shoko had lost a lot, and while she may not have understood much about the world that Shoko came from, it sounded like people like her tended to lose a lot at a pretty young age. Her own world is pretty rough on a lot of people, and between a massive widespread disease and massive and frequent natural disasters, people outside of select cities tend to struggle pretty heavily too, so Serpilia understands coming from a rough world.

In fact, during one of her chats with WWX he specifically mentioned reading Serpilia's file, and telling her that what he thought she needed was someone who could support her as her situation started to get tougher. While it has been well established THE MAN KNEW NOTHING, he did have access to that file, and that also meant so did the producers that put together the matches. This is what really started Serpilia down the train of thinking she and Shoko were probably a match, paired with the fact that they knew the gender breakdown, and they figured out pretty quickly that Poppy and Shoko weren't perfect matches.

Sidebar: Shoko and Poppy were Serpilia's personal OTP of the show, and them not being a perfect match broke her heart initially. She wanted it so badly for Poppy, who was so cute in general and very excited about Shoko, and she thought that their demeanors really complimented each other in how different they were.

Related to that sidebar, Serpilia also thought that if she matched with Shoko, it might be a good thing for her Soppy ship, because she had at that point realized she had a crush on both Furina and Ringo, and she wasn't sure how well she was going to shift gears to the person she was meant to match with. She also thought that if it was her, considering she had never been looking for love in the first place, she wouldn't stand in the way of Shoko and Poppy at the end. It seemed like a win/win situation to her even before she realized that the couple she liked were open to letting her in as a third.

Beyond that, she just really liked Shoko as a person. To be matched with her would be genuinely flattering, but even if she wasn't paired with her she liked spending time with her. She really was incredibly easy to talk to in a way that made Serpilia relax and enjoy herself, and she considered Shoko to be a good friend throughout the course of the show.

So being right about the match felt pretty good. Who doesn't want to be matched with the incredibly cool hottie? Even if the two of them had feelings for other people, that just seems like a win in Serpilia's book. It really did feel like everything came together so perfectly in the end in a way she had wanted it to though, and she's happy for herself, and for Shoko, and for Poppy who definitely wins by bagging Shoko like she did. A happy ending beyond Serpilia's wildest expectations.

Now Shoko just needs for all of her friends to stop dying on her...

Man, Luka ended up being such an unexpected gem for Serpilia. I think because I am canon familiar, I did not foresee the two of them having long term good CR, because Serpilia is at her core a pretty good person, even if she can have her own selfish whims here and there, and make some choices that aren't the best. I said as much on her survey though, but she does shallowly like a pretty face, so she had some interest in Luka from the get-go because of the fact that he is objectively a very pretty man, but it was a pretty shallow and passing interest initially.

It was the first matching ceremony, and the level of cool and composed he handled it all with that really kicked off her liking him as a person though. Even though she put on a good face, it definitely did suck for her not to be picked. She'd been friendly and flirty with a good chunk of the cast initially, and while it wasn't like she'd made any deep connections with anyone in a week's time, she thought she'd made a good impression, so her ego was a little bruised more than anything else. Luka treating it as if they also deserved some fanfare and attention as they walked up to center stage for a brief moment together helped soothe a lot of that bruising for a moment, and in general just made it easier to keep her chin up and put on a decent show.

She didn't necessarily think he did it for her or anything, but she still appreciated it, which is why she went to find him later to thank him and talk about it. While she didn't necessarily think their random mashing together made them likely candidates for the lights they got, she did want to get to know him better after that, test out the waters, and go on a date with him. I'd have to go back and check, but I think he is the only person that Serpilia asked WWX what he thought the chances of them being a match even was.

Going on dates with him was definitely an interesting experience though. While Serpilia and Luka never did end up having a conversation about the situation that Luka came from, so she never learned what a purse dog he really was, she did glean very quickly how controlled his life was from his strict diet to his panic when she dragged him away from the film crew for a bit. She had it mostly chalked up to idol stuff, but idol stuff in a very extreme and controlling way that had her worried, even if she didn't want to pressure him with questions about it.

I think because she recognized that he was clearly Troubled in some way, she was glad that he took such an interest in a woman like Maya, who Serpilia found to be extremely fun, sweet, and ready to roll with the punches, and it didn't really matter to her who Luka ended up with in the end, because she understood that he'd set his sights on Maya, and that felt right to her. (She doesn't know how intense it can get...)

It also meant she immediately appreciated it when during the last matching ceremony he made some vague and ominous comments that made me, the player go OH NO, but made Serpilia go "haha that's kind of weird?" until he put on his performance and made it clear that despite who he was picking for the ceremony, he had someone else he wanted to pick instead. She thought it was sweet, and also felt like Yi Sang wasn't the kind of guy to be overly bothered by that, so she was pleased/happy for him that he was able to say what he really wanted at the end.

They parted without her really knowing the depths of bullshit he was put through, but because of that I think they also ended on pretty good terms with Serpilia being genuinely fond of Luka, and hoping that things work out for him and Maya.

Powerpuffs!!

Honestly, Poppy was pretty sweet and fun from the get-go with Serpilia, though with getting to know a pretty large number of people, I don't think Serpilia had given her a ton of thought other than she way preferred Poppy's reaction to learning about the existence of Sankta as someone who apparently didn't have them in her world to the way that Edamura reacted to her, and she appreciated how well Poppy seemed to accept things after a little explanation.

And when talking to Ringo Poppy... well popped up out of nowhere to get in on the literal numbers game they were playing. That early conversation was so cute, and Poppy's genuine excitement over making friends who had some of the same nerdy interests that she did, and getting excited to form a little trio with them endeared her to both Serpilia and me, Leigh, personally.

I think from that point on Poppy with from cute and kind of quirky girl to friend very solidly in Serpilia's mind. Because she hadn't technically come there with the goal in mind to find her match or get a wish, the idea of just making good friends with like-minded people really appealed to her, and Poppy was just genuinely a lot of fun to be around. She definitely came from a world very different from Serpilia's own, and telling even the most basic kind of stories about things from her world and having Poppy just kind of :O at them made that clear, but she was a delight on the show, and had great and enthusiastic energy.

Also she never turned her ire on Serpilia, so Serpilia was willing to just kind of look away and let Poppy glower and whoever she wanted to otherwise, even while Serpilia got along with pretty much everyone.

The one difficulty was that early on WWX mentioned having read her file, and mentioned thinking she needed someone who could be steady for her when things got rocky in her world. Initially she took his insight more seriously than time proved it probably should have been taken, but even after that it was still in the back of her mind that the file that WWX had read on her would have been the one that anyone making these matches would have read too. It made her pretty certain that she and Poppy were not a match.

Well... actually... her strong belief in Soppy made her believe that they weren't a match at first, and then it turned out Soppy couldn't be a perfect match, it was the whole thinking Poppy was not well equipped to handle the shit on Terra.

I think it's a little funny when the gender breakdown of the perfect matches were given that Odile quickly started to steer Poppy towards Serpilia, because it was at that moment that Serpilia almost immediately realized that it was likely her and Shoko, and doubled down on her thoughts that it wasn't her and Poppy. She liked Poppy so much though, and trying to discourage her away from a course that she thought was likely to result in another loss of a light was hard, because she didn't want to feel like she was rejecting her. She wouldn't have minded at all if Poppy was her perfect match, because Poppy was such a sweet and fun friend, but she had convinced herself (accurately, as it turns out) that it wasn't going to be the two of them.

She also admittedly was kind of hoping for her and Shoko, because she knew that she wasn't really there for romance, and the two women she was the most interested in were already together, so it made things easier for the two of them if one of their matches was happy to step aside for them. I said it before, but I'll say it again, Soppy was Serpilia's from week one OTP, and she was happy whenever she got to see them being cute together.

It also broke her heart a little when Poppy was certain she was going to be the girl paired with a man, because Poppy had her own queer awakening on the show, and seemed to be thriving and so much happier for it, and Serpilia was genuinely kind of worried that might have been the case (ie Poppy getting stuck with a boy), and hated that idea for her, so when she ended up with Yangyang Serpilia was happy AGAIN, because Poppy deserves to be paired with an incredibly beautiful woman in a wonderful sapphic way, while running into the arms of another beautiful woman in an even more wonderfully sapphic way.

And despite me dropping the ball on old threads, I like to think that they will still chat often as time goes on, and girlfriend gossip with maybe a little more detail than Serpilia was willing to give when she was teasing Poppy with admitting she had gotten together with Ringo and Furina.

nrangel: (plays ominously in the distance)

[personal profile] nrangel 2025-08-03 06:40 am (UTC)(link)
Let's make it a month and some change instead.

Yi Sang... poor, sweet, doing his best Yi Sang.

So here's the truth, from the get-go I think Yi Sang was pretty far down on Serpilia's lists of potential matches. He's CUTE TO ME, but he does look like he needs to catch up on sleep, has kind of an unkempt vibe despite being perfectly kempt, and isn't particularly impressive in the build department (his one navy man AU aside), so he definitely isn't Serpilia's type at all who likes pretty faces and built bodies. That being said, just because he was barely on her radar from a glance at the profiles didn't mean she wasn't interested in making friends with him, especially given she wasn't actually there for trying to find true love in one month's time.

The funny thing too is that he definitely came across as more charming than he meant to in their first meeting. Given his own history with Sang Yi and his fascination with her wings, as well as his unusual way of speaking, Serpilia was given the false impression that his interest in her was attraction based, as in finding her hot instead of attracted to the idea of flight that her wings represented. She completely misread his intentions given the nature of the show, and her own struggle understanding him sometimes, so his firm denial of that made her feel a little odd.

I think she got a slightly better understanding of him with just a little more time, when he showed that he didn't have much in the way of strong opinions on the people he was supposed to be matched up for in this love competition. Even if Serpilia herself was skeptical of the idea of it panning out into much, and didn't mind not finding any connection of that sort, the idea of coming onto a show like this and not caring at all who you end up with was baffling to her. Yi Sang found new ways to be confusing to her, though she could at least start to guess that he seemed like the kind of guy to take the path of least resistance.

And that's exactly why she told him not to pick her at the ceremony. She didn't know if he actually would, since she didn't feel that had any particularly strong connection at that point, but since she also didn't know who might pick her, she had a feeling if there were some leftovers and he was last, he might if that seemed like the easier thing to do, and the idea of that ruffled her metaphorical feathers something fierce.

After that conversation also Serpilia became determined to force him to make some choices, not realizing that not all choices were the same to Yi Sang, and he could very easily make ones like the ones that occurred in the escape room. She'd been expecting a lot of hemming and hawing from him, and to have to carry them through the game while working just as hard to make him make decisions, but he impressed her by getting into it right away. She had no idea she'd accidentally led him into his element, and was genuinely impressed by the change in character she was seeing from him.

I think this is also when the hotness meter was introduced in OOC chat LMAO it was the first time he did anything at all to even earn him a single hotness point.

From there a guy that she had frankly kind of poor opinions on early on started to shift into someone she found still baffling and confusing, but charming in a way that was pretty strictly platonic. I don't think Serpilia even once considered Yi Sang romantically, though she did consider choosing him for her round when she was trying to think of who to pick who didn't seem to have a likely candidate already lined up. She also appreciated that despite her telling him not to pick her last round, he wasn't the grudge holding type, and was so willing to accept her potentially picking him for the matching ceremony, more brownie points won.

There were other things he did that she found both weird and charming, like the way he spoke about the robots in the robot match, which Serpilia did appreciate since she was also team "let's not be cruel to robots", and him just immediately trying to take her advice at the onsen to the detriment of their own conversation, and by and large just kind of made him creep higher in her esteem.

I think she never fully understood him, but she did like him a lot by the end, and found his insight and way of viewing the world fascinating, which is why she was also happy to have conversations with him like the hot or not game that really veered off the tracks when playing with him. She hopes he and Yangyang can make each other happy, because she likes the Yi Sang they had at the end of the show when he was a lot more cheerful in his own quirky way than the very dower Yi Sang that they had for awhile at the beginning, and wants him to be able to keep that strange charm of his going.

Beautiful Miss Ringo, where to start...

Well, might as well start at the beginning! Even before meeting Ringo in person, I think she left a bigger impression on Serpilia than most of the other cast members because of how unique her profile was in a sea of already fairly unique profiles. She assumed that the claims made about her were jokes, or ways of trying to catch attention early on, rather than real facts about her, and didn't put too much thought into things like the age listed on her profile. She could see her picture, she could see the woman herself milling about the manor. Obviously she wasn't a literal baby?

Ringo's actual first meeting with Serpilia also left the strongest impression because of how bold she was with her approach. Even though Serpilia herself was very flirty from the get-go, she wasn't so upfront as to ask people to kiss right off the bat, so Ringo's strategy of just going for it impressed her. Serpilia likes upfront people who are honest about themselves and what they want, so she liked what she saw of Ringo, and the kiss was pretty nice too.

That's when she immediately after learned that Ringo's profile wasn't just made up nonsense intended to grab attention, and her interest grew, because Ringo was a fascinating person with very unique circumstances. I think very quickly she took the "well yeah obviously Ringo is a full person" stance, but she also knows robots with very advance capabilities, personalities, and AI systems, so it was easier for her to do that than it might be for most people, even if none of the robots she knows are at Ringo's level.

They ended up going on a date, and Serpilia had a blast too. Ringo was fun, up for just about anything, and seemed enthusiastic about learning about the world in a way that Serpilia found charming. She was actually Serpilia's very first pick on the first week, but of course she was not picking that week, and she'd also had a pretty good impression of Furina, so she was happy to see that Ringo did get picked by another cutie.

Ringo also showed she and Serpilia had a lot of the same interests. The whole powerpuff girls thread with Poppy was extremely charming to me but also to Serpilia herself, who genuinely had a lot of fun joking and talking about using the power of MATH to figure this out with the other two women. She felt an ease and a comfort with Ringo that she enjoyed a lot, and wanted to explore a little more.

Though she was also happy to see that Ringo and Furina continued to hit it off well enough that people wanted to take a chance on them being their second truth booth match. Serpilia herself voted for them, because she thought their chemistry seemed good, and the chance seemed likely, but by the end of week two I think that's also when Serpilia started to realize that Furina and Ringo both were the two women she was the most interested in the show (Shoko ironically being the third, but she also saw that Shoko and Poppy seemed to be hitting it off well). Since Serpilia hadn't actually come to form a romantic connection she logically didn't think of this as a bad thing.

But logic and feelings don't always go hand in hand, and she did feel just a little melancholy about the whole thing. When Furina asked her to pick the outfits for them since they had gone shopping together, Serpilia agreed, thinking it might be nice to be able to leave just a little part of herself in their relationship when they ended up matched, because she was becoming more and more convinced they were going to be a match, and picked outfits for them that she thought suited the other's aesthetic a little more (thank you both for finding such neat outfits for that ceremony based on my vague descriptions also). Seeing them up there in the fits she picked and looking so happy together again made her very happy, but also just a little sad. Very bittersweet moment for her.

One that Edamura called her out on later, and that was the first time she said out loud to anyone that she had started to develop some feelings for both Ringo and Furina, and she wasn't sure what to do about it. Mostly she just wanted to let it go and be their friend who could support them, but it's hard to kill a crush, even one that should have died the minute it started budding since they got together so quickly. Going to places like the spa with them though where they were all practically naked together was definitely hard for her big gay feelings, and she wanted to take her chance to spend time with them for the limited time they had, while also not getting in the way of their romance, and that put her in a hard spot.

So... smash cut to the rager where Furina and Ringo planned to try and sneak Aventurine and Serpilia back with them to their honeymoon suite, and Serpilia drunkenly stumbled across them in the middle of their plans. She was in an already vulnerable space, unable to stop herself from spilling her feelings a little with her inhibitions a little lowered there, but not so drunk that she couldn't very quickly catch on to what they were laying down. It felt like a dream to her, like there was no way this could actually happen. Sure, the reason the feelings developed at all was because the chemistry was good between her and both of the women in the already existing couple, but she had assumed they were looking for something a little more monogamous with each other.

So while she was happy, she also got just a little teary eyed while she got a chance to kiss both of them again, and realize she was being brought in on something she wanted to be in on, but hadn't been willing to put into words for most people.

And then when their plans to actually get back to suite was foiled by TV and also probably literal magic, they had their chance together in the bbr. ADMITTEDLY we didn't end up rping out the bang, but I imagine it probably went a little something like Ringo and Serpilia having a great time being teases, and Furina suffering the most for it. Serpilia I think was in the middle of extremes between Ringo and Furina in a lot of ways, but in terms of boldness and teasing I think she and Ringo were pretty much right on the same page, and they would have had a blast working together for something like that.

After that, Serpilia's mood, which was already pretty good even if she had some lower moments, was sky high. She wasn't really that subtle about what had happened with her and the girls, even if she wasn't saying it outright, the people that already seemed to realize her feelings (and by that point several of the people close to her like Edamura, Poppy and Luka had realized) she was happy to confirm with. At that point she really was happy to be matched with whoever, though she still thought the most likely choice was Shoko, and was pretty clear in stating it. She also hoped it would be her and Shoko, because how great would that be for her not to be in the way of Shoko's relationship with Poppy, because she already had her own she wanted to run to?

Literally at the end of the show too, when they managed to get all of their lights, and she was able to run into their arms.

NOW... as far as what the future holds for them, I think that's hard. Serpilia definitely would have wished for a way to visit their worlds easily whenever she wanted, but she would probably be busy with a lot of things happening in her own often, and not be able to join them for a lot of the journeys. She's also an ambivert with like extreme swings from sociable to recluse, but I didn't really play with the second part of her personality in the game because it was a one month game and that would spoil the fun, so her being away from them while working on important things in her world probably suits her well, and lets her charge up her battery for when she does go to see them. I do think that means in some ways she will never be quite as close to Furina and Ringo as they are to each other, but I think the three of them are all reasonable enough to accept that, and Serpilia isn't a particularly jealous or needy person that would be bothered by that, especially knowing she is the cause of it.

I just think that they'd all be able to fill in some niche of needs fulfillment, and the fact that Serpilia is the disappear for stretches at a time kind of girl wouldn't end up harming her relationship as much as if it was with just one or the other of them, because they'll have each other still while waiting for the next time Serpilia comes waltzing back in.

Mr. Unflappable Aventurine! Or I guess he was perfectly flappable, but not the sort that Serpilia could manage to get much of a rise out of until he found himself a boyfriend that she could tease a little about.

From pretty early on she liked him a lot. There are definitely some similarities in Serpilia and Aventurine's behavior in how they're both very outwardly friendly and kind of charming, but they're playing a lot of cards close to their chest. In her world Sankta (basically angel people) have a reputation for being happy-go-lucky to the point of being kind of dippy sometimes, and Serpilia definitely plays with that expectation of Sankta at times to stress a light-hearted and fun personality that is part real, but part exaggerated for the sake of crafting an image.

Because she's like that, I think she could get a bit of a feel that he was a kindred spirit in some ways, though they never really got deep into it about how that might be.

He was fun and polite though, and he played along with games very well from the beginning. While I don't think Serpilia ever had a moment where she thought Aventurine might be her perfect match, from pretty early on he was someone that she wouldn't have minded if that had ended up being the case. While she prefers her men a little on the buffer side, she likes a pretty face, and he definitely has that to offer. He was also easy to talk to and get along with for the most part.

Gosh this is the problem with doing these two months later, I forget the order of things and some details. I will say though that while we never did rp out their walk through the woods, I think the teasing Serpilia's (soon to be) girlfriends together while drunk about the whole sauna thing did lead to a sense of deeper camaraderie.

During the secret reveals, even though names weren't put with secrets, Aventurine also managed to say the one thing that stung her about her own (negligent homicide), which I think did sting more because it came from someone she liked on top of the truth of the comment he made. All that said, she realizes her own mistakes in that moment, so it was never going to be something she felt bitter about, since it was her own actions that caused that.

I think by the end of the show her general sense of Aventurine was kind of the same in knowing the two were a little alike, but not necessarily knowing all the details of how that was probably true, but with the BIG difference that she'd gone from finding him a charming stranger, to finding him a genuinely likable friend. He'd proven himself pleasant to be around nearly every time she interacted with him, and she was genuinely happy for him that he found love in the game even if it was not with his perfect match either. She's wishing good luck only for Aventurine in both love, luck, and generally all things in life.

We sure didn't do any rock hitting at all! Which honestly that seems to be the way it goes for us, huh? We have a pair in zombies that are snarling and circling each other with great distrust, and a pair in ayto that are honestly very cute.

Though unlike Kat and Lessing who made for very cute friends, Furina and Serpilia managed to reach much greater heights by the end of this game.

So when the two of them first met despite Furina's tendency to talk in a kind of haughty way, she made a pretty good impression on Serpilia. It's a funny thing about Sankta, but with the rare exception almost all of them are sweet lovers, so Furina doing something as simple as just enjoying cake with her felt like a decent starting point to Serpilia. It was fun, simple, and a point in which the two of them could relate to each other that Serpilia enjoyed, especially when it went hand in hand with cute promises to do clothing swaps after style compliments were given.

Any sense at all that Furina might be even a little bit haughty or full of herself would definitely have been dashed by the time they played spin the bottle. So many of the people that Serpilia kissed managed to stay so cool and collected during their kisses, despite her best attempts to fluster some of them. While Furina wasn't the only person she did fluster, Furina was the one she visibly flustered the most by a long shot, and that genuinely delighted her. She wanted to have some fun with this, and a little teasing is part of the fun for her. It helps that Furina's embarrassed reactions were incredibly cute and endearing, and I think put Furina near the top of her list pretty fast.

The date they had where they really did exchange outfits and, ahem... some other things where the cameras couldn't see them really cemented Furina as one of her top choices the other two obviously one being Ringo, and actually the other being Shoko.

The problem for Serpilia was she got there a little late in both cases. Having been picked by Poppy the first time, Shoko naturally picked Poppy in turn, and something was clearly starting to heat up between those two, and Ringo and Furina, well...

To be honest, Serpilia herself could see the chemistry, and thought the two had a good chance of being a perfect match. She was genuinely happy for the possibility, because she liked both of them, and since she herself hadn't joined the game with real intentions to find her match, she told herself repeatedly that she was fine with nothing really working out for her anyway. It wasn't entirely true, as seeing the two of them walking together and feeling so right for each other did feel both heartwarming and a little bittersweet to her.

Thanks to Furina's request though, she was able to add her own little fingerprints on their relationship still, and I think it's hard to describe how touched she felt by the fact that Furina wanted her to pick out their outfits, and the fact that they both went ahead and wore what she chose for them. She definitely bragged about it to the others during the ceremony, and soaked up all the compliments their fits got, though part of that was it was also easier to do that than deal with any heartbreak alongside her pride and joy for them.

She was pretty ready to let the whole thing go too, and just toss herself fully into mathing the situation out and cementing friendships, but then Edamura had to go and talk to her and make her come clean about the fact that she'd caught feelings for both Furina and Ringo. Saying it out loud made it more real, and even though there was a catharsis in being able to let it out, it also made it harder for her to move ahead with operation: get over crushes.

Especially when they invited her to join them for barely covered spa time. Especially especially when they hatched an elaborate albeit foolhardy plan to sneak her back into their honeymoon suite with them. When the two of them admitted to wanting Serpilia to join them as their third, she really hit her emotional peak in the game. It was the only time she got teary at all, and as a woman not prone to crying it meant she was really getting hit big time with elation, relief, surprise, and all sorts of other feelings in that moment. It seemed unreal to her, and the fact that she was a little drunk probably didn't help it feel more grounded either, but hey it all worked out.

It worked out really well, considering the night ended in the bbr where despite us not getting to rp it all out I'm sure ended in Furina getting teased mercilessly by Ringo and Serpilia both.

There wasn't much time left in the game then, but Serpilia did want to spend what she could with her girls, and celebrate and share her joy with them. It's why when they managed to get it all right in the end and successfully win the game and the wishes, as much as she was happy to have someone she liked as much as Shoko as her official perfect match, her first impulse was to run into Furina and Ringo's arms.

I said this to Cal, but I will say it here too, but Serpilia is ironically a bit of an ambivert that swings really heavily between isolating and being super friendly and chatty. In a month long game though I was not going to play the introverted part of her out however LMAO, so everyone got her more social side.

In a relationship with Furina and Ringo, I think this could work out really well with her being the third instead of the only one dating one or the other of these women. She's busy because of her work for two organizations, and her commitment to check in on the girl whose life she ruined, and making sure she's safe, but she also needs her recharge time away from people. That Furina and Ringo have each other regardless, and that Serpilia can pop in as she can/wants to without causing her girlfriend(s) to be lonely probably works out ideally for everyone involved. I do think as time goes on she probably would want to spend more time with them though, even if it meant shirking some of her job related duties here and there.

Haha, no worries. I have kept my word on it taking me like two months to get to all of this, so I'm not judging anyone else for skipping.

As for a little writeup about Miss Odile, well...! Yes. I think the two of them never fully understood each other and what the other one wanted and was looking for, which for Serpilia actually made it harder to determine if she and Odile were a match, though I think Odile was a little more certain (and obviously correctly so) that it wasn't going to be her and Serpilia.

From pretty early on while Serpilia was very sociable and flitting around flirting with people, I think Odile's more reserved personality meant the two of them didn't click quite as quickly as Serpilia did with some of the others, though she liked Odile well enough. The woman took an interest in her Sankta traits without getting strange about them like some people did, and had a pretty calm and fairly practical way about her that Serpilia respected a lot.

While Serpilia doesn't actually consider herself a fashionista, she was flattered that after seeing the outfits that she was picking out for Furina and Ringo that Odile took some interest in letting Serpilia find something for her, and was determined to make it beautiful and classy for a woman who struck her as having a lot of poise.

I think it wasn't until week three where they got the reveal that most of the remaining pairings were going to be same sex couples that Serpilia really started considering Odile as a possible option as her match. Although we know WWX didn't actually know anything, he did reveal in one of the talking heads encounters that he had read her file, and seemed to think what Serpilia needed was stability and someone who could be secure while she walked down a rocky road, so Odile describing herself as a safe port in a storm immediately made her go !! and ask her out on a date.

Ironically this is the time that Odile was taking into consideration things like people's mutual interests and hobbies, and trying to nudge Poppy in Serpilia's direction, though at that point the same thing that made Serpilia think she and Odile might be a fit made her certain that it wasn't going to be her and Poppy, even though her and Poppy had a stronger rapport in the first couple of weeks.

Fishing trip was pretty illuminating in some ways. It didn't necessarily make Serpilia any more certain about the nebulous potential connection between her and Odile (though at that point she thought it was likely she was a match with Shoko), she did still get to learn more about Odile herself and the world she came from, and how different it was from her own. I think even if that small potential she was following didn't seem like it was coming to fruition, she did appreciate the chance to get to know Odile a little better.

And throughout the rest of the show, the woman continued to be someone that Serpilia thought had such cool lady energy. She seemed relaxed and comfortable enough in her own skin, and ready to not suffer nonsense when it mattered. Her pulling together the final truth booth at the end in a way that helped them all slot together the final puzzle was a huge bonus for Serpilia, and considering that was after some TRUTHS came out about Messmer (iirc time lines get murky after a couple of months), I think Odile's willingness to do that hit even harder.

So while they never formed the UNBREAKABLE FOUND FAMILY BOND, Serpilia did really like Odile a lot as a person, and was happy for the chance to get to know her.

WWX WAS TRYING HIS BEST, and I Serpilia did acknowledge that from day one. The man was personable, friendly, and clearly had some vested interest in her group actually winning the game in the end, and she really appreciated that about him.

From their first meeting I think they got along well on a very basic level. Serpilia is admittedly a lot less uh... outwardly troubled than some of the others in this group LMAO, and I think that meant she could give a bold and fun interview initially without WWX having to struggle too much to get answers out of her. I think the problems came along the more time went on.

Serpilia very clearly wasn't all that interested in opening up deeply to people she'd just met a couple of weeks ago, and while she hadn't necessarily come in to find true love, she had kind of expected to make some at least shallow and fun connections. Pretty quickly she started to get left behind while others really started to click with one another, and she realized this, and so did WWX. Early on, I think he was a lot more worried about this than she was though. She figured as long as she could figure out who her match was, it didn't really matter in the long run if she found someone she actually liked, and he seemed more genuinely concerned with the idea of her leaving the place without love.

I do think she took his words more seriously than most people though. While WWX did end up showing he actually didn't know anything for real, he did still read her file, and reporting back to her on what he saw there really got the wheels in her head turning, and Serpilia playing the game more strategically. It ended up meaning that she veered herself away from anything serious people she liked as people (like Poppy), and tried getting to know some people she didn't know as well (like Odile), and that was a delight for me as a player too, since it gave me a good end to chasing after even more CR.

I think the only time they were kind of on the same page as to the level of "ah shit" was when Serpilia did fess up to who she actually liked, and the two of them just kind of had to sit there and stare at each other awkwardly, because she liked a matched pair, so what do you do with that? She recognized he wanted to help her, but there wasn't really much he could do for her in that case.

Still, WWX was a good guy the whole way through as far as Serpilia was concerned, and did his best for everyone.

It probably also helps that she never had to hear any x-rated details about his private life with his husband.
