I genuinely, genuinely did not think Edamura and Serpilia were going to get along over the course of the game given how their interactions started out. Not that I was against that, since I love negative CR, so I was ready to embrace what I thought was happening.
As a normie it makes sense that Edamura was kind of dismissive about people with strange appearances, and I was ready for it given the same thing happened to Lessing back in the second teen round. Calling her a cosplayer and thinking she was weird for taking the bit too far made a lot of sense coming from him, though in turn for her where these sort of traits are normal and expected, feeling weirded out by someone treating her as strange also made sense. They were both not incorrect in thinking the other was a little odd given their own backgrounds, but the way that it had them immediately like "wow look at this fucking guy" about each other was a delight.
That Edamura was like scrutinizingly staring at her during spin the bottle (I assume probably him starting to realize that her features weren't just props) made it seem even more like they were going to have this sort of ongoing contentious relationship.
And then he apologized to her and was pretty open and honest about his assumptions and mistakes, and the CR suddenly flipped around in a way I didn't expect, but was equally delighted by. Edamura, normie boy that he is, going from being really dismissive of her to hesitantly wanting to touch her halo/wings when offered the chance made her warm up to him pretty fast as she realized he was actually a pretty sweet guy who had just (JOINTLY!! she's also at fault!!) fumbled their first interaction together.
It made her relax a lot around him, and approach him in a different way. Suddenly there was this guy who was friendly and funny, and fairly easy to tease and talk to, and it was a much nicer interaction than before where she would pull her ":) I see you watching me, buddy" number, and she genuinely had a good time spending time with him. The fact that he caught on quickly to the feelings she'd accidentally caught for Ringo and Furina, and gently talked to her about them in private lifted a huge weight off of her shoulders she hadn't realized was there, and the fact that he was willing to let her choose him for the ceremony equally made life much easier for her.
At first she genuinely did buy most of his act too. Edamura says he's looking for something real with a spark to it? Sure! Why wouldn't he be? But their talk in the later half of the show where he admitted more of what he really felt about things made some sense to her too. I think in part because despite finding love in the show, Serpilia herself isn't a natural romantic, and so the idea of love at first sight is just lust at first sight in her eyes. You build up something more from there, but her idea of a spark was more physical and wanting than it was the sort of whirlwind feelings of sweet love that some people think about.
It did lead to her very briefly thinking that Edamura was ace, but look it all got cleared up quickly and she better understood where he was coming from. Since he shared a secret with her, she was willing to share a secret with him too, that she'd come to the show neither for a wish or romance, but because it she was investigating a suspicious invitation at the request of her place of work. While she was treating the whole thing like a vacation as much as she could, she didn't expect to get anything out of it, and I think that created sort of a stronger bond of connection and understanding between Serpilia and Edamura.
That he also managed to find love in the end did delight her though. Two people coming to the show not expecting to find it at all despite how their early behavior might have indicated something contrary, and they managed to actually find something real here. It helped that Serpilia liked Rom a lot, and saw a lot of practicality in his behavior that she thought would bounce off of Edamura well, but the way Edamura was so genuine about his pursuit of Rom really touched her deeply.
The long short of it is they went from uncomfortable strangers to really good friends, and Serpilia thinks so highly of Edamura, and is hoping only good things come his and Rom's way in the future, or more realistically that the two of them overcome the bad things that happen, and have more happy days than miserable ones.
