No outright changes this week either. Week three rolls around, braced for impact as ever. The estate is still intact, the contestants are still motivated, things are looking good.

Well, aside from the fact you all had a blackout this weekend. That wasn't so good.

Either way, when Monday rolls around, Wei Wuxian seems to be in a cheery mood as he greets everyone Monday morning.

"Everyone, come here, come here. I have an announcement!"

Either he's just sitting back and relaxing, offering you some idle commentary-]

Can this be the entire rest of our week?

[Or he's feeling a little mischievous, casting a bit of Chroma with a swipe of his hand. At the other end of the spring, an invisible force hits the water and splashes someone just for fun.

[Or he’s found the stack of envelopes, nosily opening a few up, pausing as he reads each card. One in particular seems to make his eyebrows fly up, and if you happen upon him in the middle of that, Verso starts.]

Oh. Hi.

[And tosses the card over his shoulder, right into the water. Smooth. Don’t worry about it.]

[ Odile is decidedly not drunk enough to deal with



all of Verso, good god, so she minds her time with the sake until she readies herself enough to take a seat on the rocks lining the onsen, robe modestly around her to keep warm.

"You look like you're enjoying yourself," is what she thinks to say, ]

You're as rugged as a cliffside, handsome.

[ Is what she says instead, smile small and pleasant as normal like she hadn't switched her words. ]

[Verso cracks and eye open, tilting his head to look over at Odile from where he’s relaxing. He’s— huh?

Gutters a laugh.]

understanding why someone might claim they can handle the heat of the hot spring and proceed to nearly drown holding their breath beneath the surface once what she'd said catches up to her, actually, but thankfully only her legs are remaining in the water rather than the whole of her. ]

[ Oh, goodbye, card...he should have made more of an effort to sidle and read over Verso's shoulder, but he didn't expect there to be anything too salacious on them. Guess he was wrong!

Which only piques his curiosity more. ]

How perfectly sly and unsuspicious of you. So, which one was yours?

[ Yeah, he read through them and memorized them earlier... ]

[To be fair, the card might be soggy, but it’s certainly still legible if anyone wanted to fish it out.

Verso just puts on his lopsided smile.]

Oh, maybe you’d like to guess? The “no friends” one isn’t a stretch, is it?

[ Yeah that could be like half of them, including Aventurine himself, it can't be that easy. ]

You? The apple of so many of our eyes? I can hardly buy that. And, as you've got that fetching gray streak of yours, we can rule out the one about dying your hair black...

[ He will narrow it down one by one, if needed! ]

[ She won't say it, but she will look. She will look very unsubtly and with an impressed look on her face, before looking back up at his face.

That's what I'm saying. I think we should just wrap up the rest of filming here. The water is great, the view is nice.

He’s just casually leaning back against the edge of the spring, offering her a grin.]

Oh. And who’s providing you with the best view so far?

[Because he assumes that’s what she means BUT NOT LIKE THAT-]

[ Serpilia doesn't say a word, but she will pull her knees up so she can rest her elbows on them, and then rest her chin in her now propped up hands. The eyebrows are raised as she just gives him a look.

Not like the earlier look, mind, but a look that tells him he should know the answer to this. She wasn't being subtle. ]

[ He's been spacing out a bit from the heat where he's been sitting outside the other end of the spring and just. Eats the splash to the face with zero resistance. Cue a blink before he glances Verso's way, looking even more wet-rat than usual, but apparently not too bothered by it. ]

That was quite the trick.

[Rom, buddy. Maybe he's doing you a favor by keeping you cool.

Verso flashes him a crooked smile, wandering closer while he replies.]

Just a bit of Chroma, nothing fancy. You looked like you were about to faint, so I cooled you down.

[That's an exaggeration, but Rom does look a bit spaced-out.]

Aah, thank you, then. [ Said even as he's cautiously trying to scuff some of the water out of his hair without tugging it out of place. ] But I'll be fine. No need for concern.

[ Anyway -- ]

This ... Chroma? You've mentioned it a few times now. Do you always have it on you?

[ Gets splashed. Squawks, then starts looking around. ]

[ Her gaze snaps over to him, eyes narrowed. ]

[Yi Sang blinks at the approximate spot in the water where the card has sunk, baffled by what's just happened.]

. . . Greetings, Verso. Is aught the matter?

[It hasn't sunk completely, more soaked and floating along the surface. Comically, it drifts forward and floats right between them.]

I was— You startled me.

[poans]

[He watches the card's waterlogged journey, not unlike a forbidden fruit between them. Tempting as it is, he mustn't.

Fortunately, Verso's answer grabs his attention as he snaps his head up.]

Apologies. It was not my intention to take you by surprise.

[ Wow?? Shoko was just over here mid sake sip and now she's getting splashed? ]






......Okay. Who did that? Speak up.

[ Promise she's not mad. . . ]

Here's Verso, on the other end, smiling at her. A little wave. He's innocent, and clearly not at all holding back a laugh.]
