Here's another spin: Poppy's matched with someone without any money at all, to drive home the fact that love isn't dependent on finances. That sounds like a story worthy of "television."

I cannot speak on the matters of love or what constitutes a drama as I lack experience; however, my understanding is that Miss Poppy is a passionate woman with a clear vision for her future. Rather than affluence alone, what she seeks are acceptance and support from those who can help her soar to greater heights.

And that "support" might just be easier to come by if she can win the affection of someone with a lot of money to spend. But... the acceptance part is a bit trickier, isn't it.
