[ Once conversation has quieted down a bit, Yingying perches herself on the back of one of the couches so she can be a bit Higher UpTM in order to make an announcement. ]
Since we've yet to decide on a pair to send... Rom and Ringo have both suggested that perhaps it's a good idea for me to select someone to go with.
[ Provided the people are willing of course. They do have to pick somebody before the day is over, though. ]
I've been getting along so well with everyone, it's difficult for me to choose just one. [ Like. Genuinely and honestly. She has her own strategy in her head about who she should choose, but with that disclaimer said, she puts a hand to her chin, eyes softened by thought. ] But, thinking about how to bring everyone closer to their wishes... I've come up with two ideas!
[ She can't let those slip through her fingers. What kind of fairy would she be if she did!! ]
Ringo is doing a lot of studying and research, right? Going to the booth might give her a hint about the kind of person she's matched with, and more "data." We both like trying new things, but maybe her match is supposed to be someone different than her? That would be my first idea. [ WHATEVER DATA MEANS ] My other idea would be to take Luka. We're both singers... and famous, in some ways. That, and, it couldn't hurt to narrow down who either of our matches might be.
[ They're both mysterious beauties.... with all that said, she leans over until she can prop her elbows on her knees, cupping her face with her palms. A little dramatically: ]
[ She says the perfect thing to toe the line of whether it's literal or symbolic, finding it fun to keep the mystery up in the air. Is it a title bestowed upon people playing a cultural role? Or is it closer to being a deity? She elaborates a tiny bit, trying to paint a picture for him of the time she came from: ]
Flower fairies often watch over a sacred tree or blooms... and listen to the wishes of people during fetes, urging them to come true. In my era, it was common for people to bring offerings and pray when they came to tell me their wish, or listen to me sing.
[ Yes, all that and more... like before, their every interaction is like two people on a stage. It's like Yugu's tales, and because of that, because of the way he acts and what she saw in the wisteria, she knows there's much more lying beneath. She has her own reason for choosing that over any of the others she'd brought up as potentials — a selfish, secret reason, alongside plain curiosity. Languidly, she takes his hand, interlacing some of their fingers. ]
Hmm? Offering yourself to me again so soon?
[ WHAT does this seem like to the onlookers. don't worry about it ]
[ Her smile widens, entertained by the continued dramatics. ]
Mmhm... do you swear it to the heavens?
[ She flutters her eyelashes all demurely, all while taking another portion of his Qi, draining it through their connection just as she had before. He offered, and he's clearly doing fine. She'll just give it back, if he seems faint. There are only so many that know about this condition of hers, after all, so it's convenient for both of them. ]
The heavens and the galaxies beyond them. [ the slightly deeper breath he takes is his only tell that he feels anything at all. if she could feel his heart again, it would be the same steady beat as before.
[She's been listening intently for like 80% of the conversation... admittedly, there have been moments where she's drifted a little bit, lost in thought or disconnected enough from what was being said. But she's like a mouse listening to Yingying most of the afternoon, so she caught all of that.
Since Yingying has had Furina in her sights the entire time they've been here, maybe she should have a vested interest in keeping her distance. Which...she does! Maybe she'll be happier outside of the house...with someone who hs her sense of humor.]
... There really are a lot of performers assembled here. You've made good choices. Not only is this going to drive press and ratings, but if it holds true that we have producers pushing for dramatic moments, this would start us off with a bang.
[ She tilts her head. With Luka, yes, she could see that. That seems to be about the only thing he's interested in participating in for the show; she's not so arrogant to think his behavior towards her has anything to do with her personally. They hardly know each other, after all, even if they've seen a certain side of each other.
Right, I should remember that even among performers there's a lot of professional difference... [Yingying probably has a completely different industry, and so does Luka. But universally, the business side of things will always focus on the audience. The players will always be driven by a great many things.]
It will be good. Trust me, this will be a great showstopper! Ringo may not be a famous star, but her joie de vivre makes everything she does fun, and I have no doubt that Luka's merit won him his last competition. [She describes two different kinds of shows, but both of them sound quite entertaining.]
But, Miss Yingying, as our chosen star, what do you plan to do when your match is found?
[ Furina seems so learned in these matters... there was certainly less showmanship and bravado in her own role. She's different from Luka and Furina that way. She always had to carry herself with a sense of grace, but the people who visited her were less like audiences and more like followers. ]
You mean after the competition? Mm..
[ She looks off o the side, having not prepared an answer for what she should say when people ask her that. The future is quite murky right about now, after all. ]
I want to live one day at a time... learning as much as I can about that person. Or were you thinking about some grander goal, like getting married?
No, I have trouble understanding people who are preoccupied with distant dreams of the future.
[People obsessively attached to something beautiful in the past, too, have a philosophy that Furina struggles to wrap her mind around. Though her thoughts are often filled with the past and it once pinned her to itself, it's difficult to imagine the desire to "return" that nostalgia often sparks.]
I understand wanting to live alongside someone day by day like that. [Someone like Ringo would probably understand, too, but Furina's still pondering what to do with Yingying's bold offer...and how it will affect the house itself.]
YINGYING STOCKS, aka the requested opinion of who should go into the booth

Hmmm, all this deliberating is making me tired...

Ringo grins of course, laughing.]
Aw, I'm flattered! Like I said, I can't imagine saying no to going to the booth with someone like you.
[She brings a hand up to her chin, thoughtful.]
And it'd be a new experience! That's pretty exciting too.

[ Said just like an otome character!! She smiles, coy. ]
But even if we're not matched, I hope we'll still get to go on our date, hehe.

[She's confident in that. She wants to go on a date with Yingying! They deserve this!]
It'll be too good to miss out on. I want to see how you have fun, after all.

And this is a pretty unique one, right? Not a lot of people get to say they went to the Truth Booth on a TV show to have their compatibility tested.

[ Incredible. ]

Oh. . . you're a singer too, Yingying-san?

[ She nods!! ]
People would pay a fortune just to hear me... want to hear it sometime?

I'll be sure to sing you a lullaby, then. The next time you have a sweet dream, think of it as a gift from the Wisteria Fairy.
[ Is she kidding... or being serious... well, either way, she says them with melodious charm, her smile sweet like honey. ]

Wisteria Fairy. . . ?
Is that your stage name?
no subject
Mm, you can think of it as a title.

Singers, famous, and we take what we want. [ or it was something like that when they tangled. ]
I'd never say no to stepping on the stage, but especially with you, Yingying. [ he'll go where she's draped and offer his hand. ]
Would you like some of me?
