week four | mingle
Final week at the estate! Final week with your friends. Final week with your beaus. Time to make the most of it, everyone!
In fact, to celebrate this fact, today there is a cake. It's nothing special, just a nice little cake to enjoy with your morning coffee or throughout the day. Yay, cake!
And when Wei Wuxian arrives that morning, he is going to call out once again for everyone to join him, near the cake.
"Everyone, I have another announcement!"
Hell yeah, announcements.

She does accept the glass after a moment, staring dubiously at the "safe" bottle, before she sips at the drink. It does some good to loosen the tension in her shoulders at least. ]
More than likely. Aventurine hadn't seemed too pleased with Messmer's secret, not to mention the number of other... uncomfortable things that'd come to light for most of them.
[ And they all dealt with it in some way, though she's thinking of her regrets in spilling so much of her own hand in some vague hope to distract their minds. The glass tips back further this time and she tilts it towards Shoko for a refill. ]
... He is a kind man. Made mistakes, as does anyone -- just on a far grander, more terrible scale than most. But he truly is kind.

[ She's not interested in rendering judgment one way or another. Not her monkeys, not her circus. Not that genocide is something she could ever condone, but she doesn't know much of anything about Messmer besides that. And sees little point to rectify that, at this juncture. ]
An old friend of mine massacred an entire village ten years ago. Call that a huge mistake, too. But at the end, I don't blame him for falling off the deep end. I was just disappointed that he didn't have the strength to keep himself together and carry on. So if I had to say something about this, it's that whatever Messmer-san does moving forward matters more. I can't judge anyone for thinking what he did is unforgivable, though.
[ SIGHS.... ]
I wanna give you something, Odile-san. I might as well do it now, before you call it a night.

... At the second part though, she tilts her head a little. ]
Go on.

Comes out a minute or two later with a candle and a sheet mask, which she holds out for Odile to take. ]
Here. I picked this candle up at the spa you and I went to. And this is something I brought from home. It's a mask you put over your face after you wash it, to feel refreshed. Maybe you can treat yourself to a nice bath or something at the special suite later.

Odile is leaving with a lot more than she came with, isn't she. Her features soften a little as she takes the gifts, exhaling gently. ]
... Thank you, Shoko. I most certainly will; you'll see me looking as young as you do tomorrow at the ceremony.
[ ... ]
Perhaps... if your schedule allows it in the future, we could go to another sometime.
