week four | mingle
Final week at the estate! Final week with your friends. Final week with your beaus. Time to make the most of it, everyone!
In fact, to celebrate this fact, today there is a cake. It's nothing special, just a nice little cake to enjoy with your morning coffee or throughout the day. Yay, cake!
And when Wei Wuxian arrives that morning, he is going to call out once again for everyone to join him, near the cake.
"Everyone, I have another announcement!"
Hell yeah, announcements.

[he hasn't quite burned through his entire cigarette, so unfortunately, it is coming inside with them, tucked between his lips as he expels a few puffs of warm ash from his lungs in small, short laughs]
That sounds pretty irresponsible. . .
. . . if you pass out first I'm not picking you up off the floor.
[RUDE??]

It's okay, though. It's a special, shitty occasion, so they can all live with some cigarette smoke inside for a little bit. It's not like they'll be here that much longer anyway, and it's not like it's their house, so it's all good!
She just laughs as she starts rummaging through for the first thing she can find. ]
Sure, and I'm not picking you up either. [ They remain the same person in her mind. ] Just as long as neither of us dies, it'll be fine!
[ Which she's very convinced is not going to happen, since the production would probably get in trouble?
Anyway here's a bottle of tequila she's slamming down on the table. ]
C'mon, time to drink up.
[ Shouldn't they have shot glasses. Well that's not her problem right now. ]

. . . I can think of a few things short of "dying" that wouldn't be fine! But neither of us are that stupid.
[. . .]
[HE. THINKS]
[either way, once they reach the bar, Edamura claims himself a seat and kind of slumps over the countertop, cigarette sizzling between his fingers as he collects the bottle of tequila from her]
This is the stuff you like? Well, I suppose I can't be picky tonight.
no subject
Probably. She's just grinning at him now. ]
Oh, I haven't had it in ages. But it feels like the right thing to get wasted on if you want to forget stuff, you know?
[ Does he know?? Because she might actually not. ]
no subject
I don't know if I want to forget anything. . .
[at least, not entirely]
[. . .]
[but what the hell. with a sigh, he pops the top off of the tequila bottle and just]
[fucking throws it back]
[HELLO??]
no subject
Chug, chug, chug!
[ oh they're gonna have a night aren't they ]
no subject
[but he does take two solid gulps instead of one, so. that's probably the equivalent of two shots? he slams the bottle down quickly afterwards, exhaling a sharp breath as he feel the liquor burn]
The quality of this stuff. . .
no subject
Poppy just laughs at his expression. ]
Is it good or bad?
[ Except she doesn't even wait for an answer; she's grabbing the bottle and matching him for gulps. ]
no subject
[but he says that with a laugh as he inhales another hit of that cigarette, which is now nearly burned to the blunt]
The hangover on this thing is going to be killer.
no subject
Well. She beams at Edamura regardless, even if it takes her a second. ]
Worth it.
[ Slides the bottle back over to him. ]
no subject
. . . you're really not going to ask about it?
[about the whole father-killer thing?]
no subject
... But since Edamura is the one bringing it up. And also he's got the tequila, anyway, so she doesn't exactly have anything else to fiddle with... ]
What did he do?
no subject
He left my mom and I when I was back in high school.
[under complicated circumstances, but. . . still]
. . . she got really sick soon after.
