The courtyard is lit up with lanterns all over and there is now a second special couch near the Furina and Ringo couch from last week. This is the Verso-Nico couch, if they want to sit in it. But they don't have to! Live your truth, boys! Go sit with your situationships instead!

Wei Wuxian is here, still looking happy after his absence this week, and he is dressed to impress in NOT a hanfu this time, but a modern look. He's liking it, honestly. Look at him sparkle!

"Congratulations, my friends! You are once again free from a blackout and losing a wish as you found a perfect match at yesterday's truth booth. Good job!" Wei Wuxian explains, twirling his flute in his fingers as per usual. "You might still get no lights again otherwise but, uh, let's hope not! I believe in you!"

Either way, he bounces on his feet and calls out, "Team Suibian, it's time to make your picks!" Looks like we're ready to go.

Necessary Yaoiherd

[After a moment for everyone to seep in the results, Yi Sang rises from his seat.]

Should our supposition that Aventurine and Miss Maya are a match hold true, then we have two more matches to discern among those made tonight.

Of the remaining five, there were one yaoi, one yuri, and three hets present, leaving us one match short in each same-gender category. Bearing this in mind, I would hear everyone's thoughts on which two pairs among us—Edamura and Rom, myself and Miss Odile, Misses Poppy and Yingying, Luka and Miss Shoko, and Miss Serpilia and Messmer—seem the most likely within the game's rules. Should we find ourselves in want of inspiration, there are Misses Ringo and Furina, and Nicodéme and Verso to whom we can turn.

[With that, he settles for a lighter smile at the group as a whole. Regardless of what everyone has to say, he's pleased to be here.]

One more week remains. But take heart, for we are more than halfway there.

I think Poppy and Yingying is pretty likely too at this point, but I won't discount me and Messmer.

Why you and Messmer?

[ He's leaning towards Pingping too, but if they have a good case for the other Het(tm), then that's one less thing they have to figure out. ]

It's a little hard to explain, and I don't think it's really my place to get into it...

But it's think there are things about my culture he would get better than most people, and I think I get his a little bit too from what he's told me. It's not the most solid basis for a match I'll admit, but I could see it making some sense.

My first pick is still Shoko, so it'd make sense to me if that was the case.

[ At first glance, it looks like he only nods -- but he's gonna shoot Serpilia a slight Look, smile quirking just a little wider for a moment. Yeah, see, he remembered that. ]

Numbers-wise, I believe it would work out.

I can totally see the two of you together. It'd be perfect.

I'm more likely to be paired with Shoko than Messmer.

Based on the clue and the past ceremonies, the most likely ones to be right are Rom and Edamura, and myself and Poppy. Along Maya and Aventurine, if we we assume them to be right.

[ Though, that's only statistically speaking. Thinking back to the first ceremony... ]

And I think we should, going forward. We won't have time to test every match. If we assume Maya and Aventurine are correct, and that neither of the random pairs from today are either, then we should try to test which of the three remaining pairs — myself and Poppy, Edamura and Rom, and Yi Sang and Odile — is the least likely to be correct. If we get a no in the booth, we would then assume the other two are right.

... That may work better than sending in one we feel is certain, given our chances at the moment. Though it is too early to decide by far -- would it be best that Yi Sang and I consider stepping forward, given the likelihood of your own chances with Poppy in regards to all that you have said?

[ Logically, it works out better that way. Odile won't deny that. ]

[His gaze lingers on Yingying while she speaks, his thoughts meandering before they refocus with her last statement.]

The process of elimination, is it . . . Given the answers that would arise by corollary, it is a sound strategy.

[Ringo's been thinking this whole time while I was out, and eventually when there's a lull in the conversation, she'll speak up. If there's a lull. If there isn't, she just speaks up anyway. She ain't shy.]

We suppose Myspace, Edamura and Rom and Poppy and Yingying are true. We've gotta, because it's statistically most likely, and because we need those matches to be true.

[If they aren't, they're shit outta luck anyway, so confirming does them no good anyway.]

That means we've got two yuri--me and Furina, Poppy and Yingying--one het--Myspace--and two yaoi: Verso and Nico, Edamura and Rom.

That accounts for all of the lights week one and this week.

In that case... we should solve for the last het. If we can figure those two out, then the others fall into place as a matter of course.

So we've got... Odile, Shoko, Serpilia, Messmer, Luka and Yi Sang.

Luka can only be with Messmer, Yi Sang or Odile. Makes him not a bad bet for the Truth Booth, but I'm inclined to believe him when he says he thinks he's with Yi Sang.

Yi Sang: Luka, Messmer, Serpilia, Shoko. We still don't have much to go off of there.

Odile: Luka, Messmer, Serpilia, Shoko--etcetera, etcetera, everyone left is all variances of those.

So! The answer becooomes... solve for our hets to solve for X!

You don’t think there’s a chance one of the leftover pairs could be true? Serpilia thought Messmer might be a compatible match, but maybe taking the spares into consideration… muddies it all up.

My assumption of Yi Sang was based on my pairing being male-male. If that's not the case and my match is female, I could potentially see it being Shoko, but that relies on a random pairing being assigned correctly.

[ as he'd suspected from the start, he's one of the leftovers, and none of the remaining cast seem particularly well-suited to being stuck with him. A sorry state of things, truly...

He has no idea where these weird terms she's using came from, but he can at least glean from context what they mean. ]

... Were my hand forced, Odile or Serpilia I would consider most likely.

I, too, am inclined to believe that Luka and I are a match. Although it does not solve for X, at the very least, it narrows down the possibilities.
