-euphoric? he doesn't know her. at least not in this shade. but he does feel the relaxation even if that in itself is abnormal to him too. he breathes a little deeper, clearer, and his heart beats easier than it did just moments ago.

it reminds him of something else, though he's never had company during those procedures, never had anything else but the thoughts in his own head as he watched his blood snake down the tube in loopy-de-loops. ]

Because I don't get the feeling anyone takes care of you like this.

[ He's always talking about his fans, and most of what he does revolves around impressing them, catering to them... given what else he said about the Segyein, the other humans, the world at large, it doesn't seem like he has any close companions to comfort him, or anything like that. It sounds terribly lonely, even if he doesn't see it that way. ]

So, I'll just have to do it!

[ She continues rubbing out any lingering tension, her words bright despite the slight feeling of fatigue that's coming on from handing over some of her own energy. It's alright, she's not close to dying. It's about the gesture, anyway. ]

[ he should add a little more fluff there but he's distracted, so it's fine.

luka has the tension you would expect of someone who works their body day in and day out, but more than that she'll be able to feel that what's really stressing his body is more of a malady. several of them, and this close its not something easily disguised, not with the care she's giving to him. ]

[ Though he hasn't explained his circumstances in detail to her, he doesn't need to. The simultaneous adoration the Segyein seem to show him, the way they are in control of the world, how he describes himself as a "possession"... it all paints a grim picture. Yingying isn't ignorant, nor is she naive. She doesn't need to know the specifics to understand that Luka hasn't ever had anything close to the warm upbringing she did, and it makes her touch all the more gentle, while she feels the knobs of his spine, the signs of his poor health. Lacking the playful flirting that colors so many other of their interactions: ]

Mm... but this is for you as my companion, [ The next roll of her hands is a little more affectionate than utilitarian, moving up towards his shoulders. Another wave of warmth seeps through, pleasant and soft. ] Not a possession or transaction.

[ Luka might not even understand relationships that extend past the distant adoration of a fan, or the domineering possessiveness of a parental figure, and her heart beats sympathetically. ]

...companion? [ he understands the word in a sense but it's never applied to him. usually, people aren't interested in the real him. and usually, he's not interested in them.

but with yingying, with his fairy, he asks that question earnestly. she doesn't know him, but she's seen more of him than anyone else here. they meet in a particular way and he allows himself to sigh, deeply under her touch. ]

Mm-hm.

[ She hums in affirmation, bending down to press a chaste kiss into his fluffy hair, before retracting her hands entirely, signaling the end of her treatment. ]

Don't you think of me as yours?

[ Your companion, your friend, goes unsaid, still knowledgeable of the "being watched" aspect of the show. ]

[ he stays there, flopped on his stomach.

does he? ]

My fairy. You're my friend too? [ he should have said companion, but. ]

You're asking me? I guess it might be a no, then... ~

[ She pouts, poking him in the ribs coyly since he's still flopped over. ]

[ don't do that, you'll hurt yourself on his boniness, yingying. that does get him to perk up a little and he picks his head up halfway, though his face is still mostly hidden by his bangs and the blanket. ]

My fairy and my...friend. [ it's mostly mumbled, sorry. ]

[ He picks his head up half way, and she takes the opportunity to lay down beside him, facing his way. Truth be told, she's a little tuckered out from expending effort, the early morning, and giving up some of her life force. But now, she doesn't want to miss this sunrise. ]

That's a bit more like it.

[ There are still plenty more things about him to understand and learn... but she feels like she understands a part of the loneliness he must feel, even if he doesn't recognize it as that to himself. Carrying the projected desires and hopes and wants of others... maybe it not so literal of a way as she has. But he's in the spotlight under pressure all the same. ]

[ finally he picks himself up fully with a bit of a pout. what he said, what she said, is still settling somewhere in him, but luka will remember this (pos?). ]

Have you seen a sunrise before?

I have — lots of times.

[ She confirms for him, opening her eyes just in time to see his little pout. ]

I like the sunset more.

Why?

The shift to the night sky is beautiful... and the lights of lanterns look prettier in the dark. Sunset and the dusk are the start of that.

I don't prefer either, but they look different in space.

[ some people would call them more beautiful, but luka doesn't. ]

I'd rather it be sunny or completely dark.
