[ Seriously: ] Even if we assume that the producers -- those in charge of this game want drama, there is a limit to what they can get away with the excuse that it's "exciting." The conceit of this game is, after all, that pairs are meant to be people suitable for each other. If there are any pairs of people who absolutely cannot stand each other in a romantic context, then they can probably be eliminated -- or at least, put at a lower priority -- as options.

Part of him wants to ask if Rom is really so desperate for choices - but maybe he is. There would be no satisfaction in drilling down on that cruelty, impure and Grace-shorn though Rom might be, and regardless of the wrath coiling in his gut. ]

Rom certainly doesn't look like he's dwelling on it much, promptly giving one of his usual, creepy Cheshire grins at that ambivalent response. ]

[ The pause was apparently so he could remember how the appropriate theatrics went. He's not really a drama buff, but he's played enough historical-slash-fantasy games to adequately mimic the gesture of sweeping off his hat and giving a deep bow. ]
[ hmm. his smile is suspicious. But not suspicious enough to elicit a comment. It's not as if voting could actually do him harm, besides. Messmer watches the display with his usual disinterest; he's too used to legitimately receiving this type of respect to even consider it a potential jab, and simply nods in return. ]
[ That's enough of that, so -- straightening back up and popping his hat back on, tweaking it so it sits right against the mess of his hair. ]
Ah, don't worry, I've already made plans for who else to choose, if somebody else selects you first! Not an unlikely scenario, I believe. But either way, I'll be doing my best to protect all of our wishes.
