The characters will arrive one by one, in whatever vehicle suits them the best to the front of estate. It's a beautiful estate filled with plants and trees and little ponds and all kinds of little hideaways. But it all cumulates at the main house, where they will be dropped off and greeted by a familiar face who stands outside the house and welcomes them in. They will be able to bring one suitcase with items and clothes as well as their pet(s?).

The main thing to notice when you step into the house though is that cameras are everywhere. Despite the many little hideaways of this house, there's no privacy whatsoever. Oh well!

When everyone is gathered together, the host from earlier will greet everyone with a merry:

"Welcome, my affection seeking friends! This is where you'll be staying the next few weeks. Find a place to settle in and get to know each other! I'll be around, in case you need anything."

He genuinely seems to mean it, at least?! But that seems to be it, he'll slip away in the meantime and leave you all to it.

A few things to note, of course:

• There is only one "bedroom" which is a large room, with a closet full of futons to roll out and use in said room. Sleepover time!


• There is an extra, extra, extra, extra large futon for Messmer.


• In one of the rooms of the estate, there is a lovely piano ready for use. Feel free to ask for more instruments, if you'd like.


• The kitchen is filled with food of all kinds and modern appliances so folks can cook whatever they'd like! There is also a bar in the kitchen, stocked with alcohol.


• In the living room, there is a screen showing everyone's profiles. It is touch screen, so feel free to swipe through!


• There is, of course, a banner in the living room reading 有緣千里來相會 (which, for the keen-eyed, translates to "Fate brings together those that are a thousand miles apart"). This was definitely written by the host.


• There is a welcome cake.

[ A musician, is he? At home with the various... "cameras" that capture their every movement as well -- Odile can't be bothered to worry about them herself, given her nature in the first place, but his a different sort of ease than that.

Nonetheless, she is here for music, and she will be enjoying it with a slim book in hand, taking a seat quietly and busying herself with that. Please, do not mind her until you do. She will have a comment once he is finished-- ]

I see your fingers give little trouble where your playing ability is concerned, despite their shade. Articulation would be a difficult loss for someone still young.

Curious more than anything. I am not a healer in any regard, but even I know it's a sign of poor health.

Not really. It's been a condition I've had since I was young and it doesn't limit me any. [ he tilts his head. ]

This is really reminding me of how long it's been since I've had the company of humans more than Segyein.

[ That seems to satisfy her anyway, nodding... only to be posed with new ones. ]

And whom do you usually keep the company of?

Segyein. [ he repeats. ]

You'd know them as aliens, I believe.

And here I assumed a person. Aliens do not have a proven existence where I am from, but I understand. They don't concern themselves with the same things we humans might.

[ What he's doing with these Segyein is another thing entirely, but she can put that aside. ]

When did you learn to play?

They don't, but they might love music more than humans do.

[ when did he start? ah, that was so long ago. ]

Ah, around the age of three.

[ Fascinating. She'll remember that should she ever meet an alien. ]

How young. [ Nice. (me, crying) ] Do you know if you had a knack for it, or if you grew into your talent?

I'm a natural at it. But that's how I was created to be, so it only makes sense.

[ he didn't have to elaborate, but his father is so proud of his creation that it would be a sin to hide it. ]

[ Not born, but a more deliberate choice of words. Odile tilts her head slightly, looking Luka over, before straightening her sight again. ]

To be a performer? Assuming that the "stage" in your title refers to such.

I imagine it's different in this era, but in mine, more humans are created than born.

[ his tone doesn't shift nor does his generally placid disposition, these are just Facts. ]

That's right. To win ALST, it's an idol competition.

[ Context clues taken. Idols are performers. The fact that more humans are created than born indicates a more hazardous environ than most times and places. Or perhaps an extinction of some kind, if not...

In any case, Odile nods. ]

Your manner is far too easy for someone to be terribly worried or excited about a potential win, so I suppose you must be certain you shall. Am I correct?

Ah, I already have.

[ here he flashes a grin. ]

But I was certain before I won, and I'm certain I'll win once more if I decide to enter again.

[ Ooooh. A small clap for him, then. ]

Congratulations on your win, Luka. While it is a world I could never step into myself, I do admire performers to an extent. Their hard work shows itself in every movement, no matter how talented one may or may not be. All skills weaken with disuse.
