i left tiny wife for last... but now here i am, taking a deep breath and taking the plunge
OKAY!!!
So of course, Furina caught Ringo's attention immediately, even though we were trying to be good and you didn't even tag her kiss prompt. We were TRYING to be GOOD!!!
Anyway. Furina caught Ringo's attention because she was already in full director mode right away. She had the sort of busy energy of someone who had a vision and wanted to see it come to fruition, and Ringo likes people who know what they want and chase it. So she was, of course, so on board to help Furina with anything she might need to make it happen. It would be fun, and they'd be killing two birds with one stone in that way. It helped that Furina's ideas were all really good ones!
But of course, it'd be remiss to not immediately mention the music thread. Furina setting Ringo a challenge to overcome in order to earn her time was something Ringo was all about; she does love proving herself, she loves sidequests (finally. it took her a long time to come around to them), and she was intrigued by Furina. But what Furina asked for was something Ringo had absolutely zero experience in. And even more than that, she had no way of... really parsing out music in a way that she thought would be satisfying for Furina. So she went to the library, dug out every aria she could find, and took them to wwx to help her understand them.
In truth! Ringo is human enough at this point that she could have understood the music to some extent, at least a little bit. But she was so convinced that she was too much of an AI, like she is at the beginning of her game, to be able to do so. But she didn't want to let Furina down already. Hence, calling in a lifeline. But she just asked wwx for what he thought the music meant; she picked the actual aria out herself. The one she picked was wistful; she was already thinking about Figue, her lost love, and what love meant to Figue. They were on a romance game, but when it came to something meaningful... that was the first thing that came to mind, and that's why Ringo picked what she did.
And she was deeply relieved that Furina liked her choice. I feel like hearing Furina sing it was one of the first moments that Ringo realized she could understand music--she could understand the emotions behind it, because wwx may have guided her to it, but hearing Furina sing it, she understood it for herself.
ANYWAY. Point is! That was the beginning of Furina's humanity truly guiding Ringo away from being purely data and AI, and more of what Ringo's always wanted--which is to be Ringo, and more human, and live her life on her own terms. She wasn't aware of it just yet, but with each date, and with each moment spent with Furina, that's what Ringo felt more and more. Furina wanted to write her own story for herself. It was such a lovely sentiment that it stuck with Ringo for the rest of the game, and still has, honestly.
Because she wants that for herself, but also, as she came to understand Furina and what she's been through more, she realized that she wanted that for Furina even more than she wanted it for herself. That she'd set aside her personal fun seeking, or enjoyment, if it meant helping support Furina's right to write her own story. And I think that was Ringo's first true glimmer that she was starting to fall in love. Emotions are complicated, especially for an AI, but... Figue was willing to give up everything for the person she loved. Ringo was starting to understand exactly what that might feel like, and how it might happen.
Of course, Ringo is the more logical of the two of them. Figue is the more emotional one. So Ringo, despite having those feelings, was aware she shouldn't just let herself fall headfirst into them. First and foremost, they were on a dating game show. They might not have even been a match. Furina was popular for good reason, and might have found someone else for her. And secondly, of course, Ringo couldn't risk making the same mistakes Figue did. That would be Dangerous.
And then... they were a perfect match!! In a lot of ways, that kind of made Ringo's life so much easier. She wanted to focus on Furina, because she liked the way Furina made her feel. Now she had a very good excuse to do exactly that.
So Ringo's attention kind of shifted at that point in the game to a) learning as much as she could about Furina and spending time with her and in her space and b) helping out with the math of the game. She wanted everyone else to get their happy endings, their wishes, and everything too. She just also wanted to do it while cuddling Furina on the couch. She really did get to live that life for like two weeks, too. Damn. Ringo was thriving and winning.
LET'S SEE....... of course we've talked together about how great it is that Ringo's learning about humanity from Furina, who was chosen to do what she did because she was so perfectly human, which is still so fistclench. Ringo also loves Furina's sometimes bossy nature, her flamboyance, her teasing. She's always been attracted most to that which is out of the ordinary, and that is exactly what she would say Furina is: she's incredibly, completely human, and yet entirely extraordinary.
So of course, with her job done back home, Ringo went home with Furina to tour Teyvat... of course she did. Aside from popping home every now and then to see Figue and also to introduce Furina to Figue and to the fancy food they have back home, she probably mostly stays with Furina.
AND ON SERPLIA: it helped that they both very much liked Serpilia, of course, but I think Ringo wanted to encourage Furina to chase her bliss no matter what. The more she learned about what Furina had been through, the more certain of that she was. She didn't even really consider it "sharing" so much as just supporting Furina on that journey of writing her own story, just like she said she wanted to do. But. It absolutely helped that Ringo also liked Serpilia a hell of a lot LMFAOOO. I'm sure they all get together when Serpilia's job(s) allow and it's very fun and spicy when they do.
okay i think i need to wrap it here for my sanity rip to me over furingos
