Edamura and Messmer are taken to the Pokemon Cafe. They will be given Eevee and Pikachu ears to wear. They will eat so much food.

[adjusting the ears on his head (SIB CHOOSE PIKACHU OR EEVEE FOR MESSMER) as he stares at the giant mascot waltzing around the cafe]

he's standing here holding his pikachu ears and staring at the person trundling around in the giant mascot costume. This is some kind of eatery...? ]

Thy culture is beyond me.

If it were other than here, I should likely choose it. What place is this?

[ why are there people in costumes?? what are these strange little heraldic beasts everywhere?? why do they have to wear ears. why. Are they going to have to adopt these little guys like with the dogs...? ]

It's a cafe specifically themed after a popular franchise of cartoon characters from back home. They're called Pokemon. I used to play the games when I was a kid.

[it kills me he is not a Pokemon adult. anyway]

I think the appeal is mostly for kids. . . but a lot of adults come for the nostalgia hit, too.

[ cartoons...?? He doesn't know what that is, either, but he can at least understand the "game" part, sort of. These are part of some children's game. Messmer hums. ]

[ the server is coming over with water for their table... and two lattes?! Maybe the production had put in a prix fixe menu order for them to keep things moving at the busy cafe. Messmer's has latte art of a Geodude on it, and Edamura's has a Mr. Mime. Remarkable. ]

[OH. . . IT'S CUTE. . . Edamura will judge the quality of the coffee itself, but for now he approves of the adorable art on top]
