No outright changes this week either. Week three rolls around, braced for impact as ever. The estate is still intact, the contestants are still motivated, things are looking good.
Well, aside from the fact you all had a blackout this weekend. That wasn't so good.
Either way, when Monday rolls around, Wei Wuxian seems to be in a cheery mood as he greets everyone Monday morning.
"Everyone, come here, come here. I have an announcement!"
Better go see what that's about, huh?

In a stage whisper: ] You're one of the better ones.

What--? The better. . . what? Poppy, what?

[ Pokes a finger square into his chest. ]
Are one of the better guys here.
no subject
. . . what's wrong with the other guys here?
I mean-- thank you, but--?

Okay, yeah, so you're not competing with like, Verso, [ but look at him. WHO IS, ] but it's not like you wear a weird hat at all waking hours of the day and you're not some jackass prettyboy who thinks he's better than everyone else and your limbs are correctly proportioned and you're capable of like, eye contact.
[ Just mows down other guys without skipping a beat.
Here's the beat now. ]
But you're also, I dunno, easy to talk to? Like I'd hang out with you pretty much any day of the week. It's nice being around you, there's no pressure or worries or anything like that. So you're one of the better guys here.
1/2
[. . . . . .]
. . . the hat isn't that weird. . .
[one. token effort. to defend poor Rom]

. . . I'm happy to hear that. Really, I am! I don't know how it makes me. . . "one of the good ones," but. . .
You're easy to talk with too, Poppy.
[because she ISN'T WEIRD]
[.. .]
[also would she be saying this if she knew he was a con man]

And her own smile falters at the reverse uno compliment, because she genuinely wasn't fishing for something. To have the sentiment returned? Of someone else's own free will? Give her a second before she looks back up at him, happy. ]
I am, aren't I? [ No she is not, the weird handicap everyone else is sporting around her is doing a fuckton of favours and she knows it. Still, she's going to carry on, bright and chipper. ] I think there's... a lot to be said about that. When someone gets you.
[ Because she only has. One person, really,
also knowing he's a conman would probably make him even cooler in her books. i casually say like i didn't just watch the first episode ]

. . . yeah. There really is.
[he smiles at that, gaze flickering away, suddenly pensive]
[. . .]
Say, Poppy. . . let's hang out again next week, all right?
no subject
Oh, she wasn't expecting him to look away like that... But the offer keeps a soft smile on her face.
So she'll lean into him slightly, a small shoulder bump before she's standing upright once again. ]
Sure. I'd like that.
