week three | mingle

No outright changes this week either. Week three rolls around, braced for impact as ever. The estate is still intact, the contestants are still motivated, things are looking good.

Well, aside from the fact you all had a blackout this weekend. That wasn't so good.

Either way, when Monday rolls around, Wei Wuxian seems to be in a cheery mood as he greets everyone Monday morning.

"Everyone, come here, come here. I have an announcement!"

Better go see what that's about, huh?

[ Oh wait, this is real? No, of course it's real, she shouldn't be surprised. Why would he know what a movie is. He's just also, like, actually asking—

Okay it's real. ]

Moving pictures. They tell stories and stuff. Think like a book you can watch.

[ A beat. ]

Hollywood's where they make a lot of them.

[ Another beat. ]

I live near there.

[ So she knows what she's talking about. ]

[ the gears in his brain are turning... ]

... Thou refer'st to a play.

[ but... in a book? That moves? He's trying to picture this. Some sort of magic, no doubt. He's heard of paintings that can contain memories, or even entire worlds. ]

Oh, okay, no, but I see how you could get confused.

[ Because he's weird, but thankfully, that thought is staying inside her head only. ]

Plays are a whole other thing. Those are in one location, right? And you have to actually go to one to see one. Movies are like... think if you took a play and recorded it so you could watch it again at home. Or wherever you wanted. And it could be a bunch of plays together, like if you have a scene at a hot springs, then the actors would go to the hot springs to make it there. But then if you had another scene in a house, then they would film it in a whole other location. And then you stitch it all together and that's a movie.

Does. Does that make sense?
