No outright changes this week either. Week three rolls around, braced for impact as ever. The estate is still intact, the contestants are still motivated, things are looking good.

Well, aside from the fact you all had a blackout this weekend. That wasn't so good.

Either way, when Monday rolls around, Wei Wuxian seems to be in a cheery mood as he greets everyone Monday morning.

[ Yeah, Serpilia is regretting that one right now. It's one thing if it's incompetence macaroni normally, but depression macaroni is... something else. ]

In that case, when we get back to the manor you should make me some so I can try it.

[ A small laugh, well... it seems fair since she made fun of Furina without realizing the depth of what she was going through. ]

I'm the person that was scheming up something with my obnoxious, shitty coworker. It uh... fortunately didn't go through in the end. Some things happened, and I realized a little too late to stop it myself that what had originally seemed like a prudent idea might get a lot of innocent people hurt, but fortunately some other people stepped up in time to stop us.

[She wasn't expecting Serpilia to share her secret so easily; secrets are well-guarded by so many and often for good reason. So much of her life had been one.

Furina turns, leaning against the wall of the bath so she can rest her cheek against her arms.]

Scheming is a word burdened with some very specific connotations. What were you trying to accomplish that made you work with them?

[ She's not a picky girl on that front. Most pasta sauces are pretty good.

She almost wants to keep talking about the sauces instead, but she was the one that brought up her secret to try to make them even, so... ]

The main thing I wanted was to make sure a friend of mine was safe and sound after she'd gone missing for months, but Oren, the shithead coworker, really managed to convince me that there was a lot more danger afoot than there was.

[ A frown as she thinks about it. It's hard to explain without the background, but she doesn't want to get into the whole history of the Sankta and the Sarkaz right now. ]

Or maybe that's not right to say. The situation did get pretty dicey there for a bit, but the danger wasn't coming from the source he assumed, so our actions wouldn't have actually been all that helpful.

[Serpilia likes sweeter tastes, so maybe there's a sauce that can be robust while still indulging her sweet tooth. Furina will need to dwell on a good surprise for her, but for now she needs to focus her mind on listening to the story of Serpilia's secret. It's something important to hear, after all.]

It's such a strange thought that washed over me, but... Even if it would have failed, I get the sense that you're never recognized for trying to help and protect people, Serpilia. And maybe...that you'd rather not see it made into a big deal.

[Though it feels wrong for it to not be noticed, for her not to get the positive attention that she deserves.]
