week three | mingle
No outright changes this week either. Week three rolls around, braced for impact as ever. The estate is still intact, the contestants are still motivated, things are looking good.
Well, aside from the fact you all had a blackout this weekend. That wasn't so good.
Either way, when Monday rolls around, Wei Wuxian seems to be in a cheery mood as he greets everyone Monday morning.
"Everyone, come here, come here. I have an announcement!"
Better go see what that's about, huh?

Oh yeah. . . the spark!
[. . .]
I don't think the spark is helping at all.

You don't~? I thought you believed in 'the spark,' Edamura-san. [ hehe ]

[shoves his hand into Rom's face]

[if he is successful, then he will let go, satisfied with his "revenge"]
That's beside the point! I think it's obvious by now that some people here are being drawn in directions opposed to their "perfect match." It's not a bad thing, it's just something to keep in mind.

Rom basically ragdolls when he feels the yank and permits all the arm-slinging and noogie-ing Edamura wants. Just give him a second once he's let go to pop his hat off where he's been smushed down on his head. ]
I agree. It feels like we tried going by ... [ feelings ] intuition in the previous round. This feels like as good a time to switch tactics as any. Matters of the heart can be dealt with separately, while we approach the game from a more strategic angle.

. . . I think everyone knows that when it comes to wishes, I don't care that much.
[he STILL doesn't believe they are a thing!! tragically!!!]
But are you going to use it? If we get it?
[if. . . no he should be saying when!!]

[ He's brushing his hat off and gently massaging it back into shape, but responds without missing a beat. And as he slips it back on, he smiles. ]
After all the hard work we've done to earn those wishes, it would be a waste not to use them, wouldn't it? Surely you can think of something that you'd like to use yours for.

[. . .]
No. Not really.
[a simple answer from a simple bean]
But if everyone else here needs them that badly, I'll still do my best to help.

. . . maybe for some of us! [giving her a smile] But some people may need to look outside of that. . . "spark." Just in case, you know?

This is usually Figue's job so I'm working overtime here!

[says the guy who excelled in literature and history and not math and science]
And I think it's helpful when we've basically been given a logic puzzle. Things like. . . probability and numbers. . . are useful for those, right?

Your praise no longer feels very praiseful.
1/2
No, I mean it--! It's just. . . not really my strong point.
[he admits, a bit sheepish]
But that's why I'm glad it's yours.
[a beat]

So. . . thanks for sticking around to help us figure it out.

She slings an arm around her shoulder at that, even though it does mean hauling him down a few inches.]
What's that? Real emotions from Edamura?
Of course I'm sticking things out! We're all in this together, yeah?
no subject
H-- hey, don't make it sound like I haven't had a genuine emotion since getting here. I have!
[puffs. . . ! but relaxes a bit at what she says next]
And at this point, we definitely are!
