week two | match ceremony

Tonight, we're back in the courtyard. It looks similar to last week with the slight exception, there is now a plush couch near the stage, and a single lantern already lit above the stage. There's still food, drinks, all sorts of things available for the contestants to snack on and enjoy.

On the stage is Wei Wuxian, looking presentable in his hanfu for today. He's busy twirling his flute in hand as he waits for the contestants to show up and find their places, and when they do he'll extend both arms out, welcoming the cast.

"Second match ceremony! You're exempt from a black out tonight because you've already found one of the matches."

He'll gesture to that couch from earlier, which seems to be The Special Seat for Ringo and Furina to sit at if they'd like.

"Now, we know how this goes so let's not delay anymore! Team Wangji, it's your turn to announce your matches!"

[ Smiles at him, because bullying Rom brings her joy in life. There isn't a lot of light in the smile, but hey! She's doing it! ]

But please do remember -- I'm familiar with online lingo, but Lord Messmer is not. Being called a rizzless cringe tryhard wouldn't do much to me, but it might be a bad idea to, for example, saying Lord Messmer is slaying right now.

[ he was honestly just looming and deciding not to even acknowledge the bizarre string of words that just came out of Rom's mouth, but it doesn't take long for him to notice that Rom seems to be pointedly ignoring him.

[ That's the thing about real people instead of ghosts, huh. Sometimes just ignoring them doesn't work. Of course, Rom does look up when addressed, wearing one of his usual opaque smiles. ]

Aahh, yes, my Lord? [ And to intercept whatever it was Messmer might have wanted to say, an apologetic cant of the head as he forges right into -- ] It's a pity how today's ceremony panned out.

However today's ceremony has made me reconsider if my observations are still of higher priority than other factors. If pushed, I'd vote for Mr. Verso and Mr. Nico, and Miss Maya and Aventurine right now, but I believe considering the matter a little longer would be wiser.

They'd be a well-suited pair for the stage, don't you think? Their conversations are quick and snappy, and they're both clearly enthusiastic. In the same way that Mr. Nico and Mr. Verso seem to have chemistry that would appeal to an audience, I believe Mr. Aventurine and Miss Maya would draw the audience's attention.

It's short for 'charisma,' apparently! So, for example, you could say that Mr. Verso has been rizzing up quite a few people, or that you possess W rizz, Miss Odile! Isn't modern slang fascinating!

'W' for 'winning!' The opposite, of course, would be 'L' rizz -- thus a lack of rizz. But I believe your volume of rizz is considerable, Miss Odile. You're considered quite the confidante among us, aren't you?
