week two | match ceremony

Tonight, we're back in the courtyard. It looks similar to last week with the slight exception, there is now a plush couch near the stage, and a single lantern already lit above the stage. There's still food, drinks, all sorts of things available for the contestants to snack on and enjoy.

On the stage is Wei Wuxian, looking presentable in his hanfu for today. He's busy twirling his flute in hand as he waits for the contestants to show up and find their places, and when they do he'll extend both arms out, welcoming the cast.

"Second match ceremony! You're exempt from a black out tonight because you've already found one of the matches."

He'll gesture to that couch from earlier, which seems to be The Special Seat for Ringo and Furina to sit at if they'd like.

"Now, we know how this goes so let's not delay anymore! Team Wangji, it's your turn to announce your matches!"

[Brain crackling noises audible from space when she catches sight of Serpilia in that dress.]

Having the choice in your hands is really nerve-wracking... I'd thought I was immune to stage fright, but even I found myself a little intimidated.

[Instead of complimenting the dress that's short-circuiting her out while Serpilia is in said hot seat, helping no one, Furina instead hands her a cup of coffee that is like. Milk-colored.]

We might have overdone things a bit last night... but it's better to fully celebrate with no regrets.

[ Milk-colored is exactly the color she prefers her coffee. Thank you, Furina. ]

Haha, no kidding. I definitely should have probably cut myself off a little sooner than I did.

[ A grateful smile as she takes the cup. ]

Thanks for this. Though... any chance you added sugar? Because I might need to add a little first.

[Hand empty, it falls to her hip so that Furina can look confident and pleased with herself.]

I did my level best to appeal to your tastes. I wasn't making it for me.

[She definitely put sugar in there. It was made sweet, for Furina, which might still not reach the levels that satisfy a Sankta...but the coffee has certainly been sugared.]

You look fancy; truly worthy of the spotlight being passed to you.

[ Fuuuuuurina don't do this to her heart. She has to go up there and practicality pick someone soon.

Her smile is just a little weak, but she takes a sip, and sighs appreciatively. It's good coffee.

Rom and Edamura would cry. ]

I don't know about all of that, but I figured I should make sure I looked the part this week.

[She just can't help it...her heart is just pure and honest. And maybe she doesn't entirely approve of Serpilia's decision to practicality pick, even if she also suspects she knows the reason--her urge to protect both herself and others.]

You've certainly succeeded at that.

[No matter how today goes and no matter how many things are still trying to slot into place for all of them, Furina's really happy. She's glad to have spent that last night in the house, in the drunken pile of blankets on the floor, and she's happy to have had the experience of partying together.

She's being very brave to extend the invitation first, not knowing if Serpilia will even have the time to make.] The three of us should do something fashionable together next week, provided we don't do so well we end the entire game prematurely today. [lol]

[ There's really no reason for her not to do it that way this time, but there's also no reason to explain why it's as good as anything else she could do either.

She'll take another sip of coffee, mulling that one over for a second. A little squeeze of the chest, but mostly gratitude for two fun girls liking her enough to want to get to know her better. Not a bad deal. ]

I think I'd like that. Even if we do manage to get everything right this week-- [ LMAO ] --I think it'd be fun for the three of us to hang out.

If nothing else, I'm sure we can secure the location for the final two weeks. It has to have been booked for the show's entire run already, so I'd just have to procure the use of the reservation.

[ERGO, she can just argue that the space is already theirs to use, and they can have talent shows, barbecues, board game nights, and parties until their inevitable and bittersweet parting. Good. Furina gets more confident and speaks a little faster as she has something to be confident about that surely won't be disrupted by anything else that could happen today.]

Then it's settled. I'm glad my invitation convinced you. I'd miss the chance to see you if we were so close and yet separated, while we have the chance.

[It's still difficult for her to reach out to people who have no reason to be in her business all that often. Even now, she wonders if Serpilia would rather have nothing to do with her, now that it would only be because she wants to see her and not because it might be useful for the show.]

[ Imagine something as lovely as that instead of what will end up happening to them instead.

But Furina's rambling is cute, and Serpilia smiles while she lets her just go. Keeping it light and breezy and very platonic. ]

You think I'm that wrapped up in the game? We're trying to find our matches and all, but it's not like we're aren't making friends here at the same time. Besides, if I had to exclusively speed date the entire time I was here, I think I'd lose my mind a little.
