week one | arrival

The characters will arrive one by one, in whatever vehicle suits them the best to the front of estate. It's a beautiful estate filled with plants and trees and little ponds and all kinds of little hideaways. But it all cumulates at the main house, where they will be dropped off and greeted by a familiar face who stands outside the house and welcomes them in. They will be able to bring one suitcase with items and clothes as well as their pet(s?).

The main thing to notice when you step into the house though is that cameras are everywhere. Despite the many little hideaways of this house, there's no privacy whatsoever. Oh well!

When everyone is gathered together, the host from earlier will greet everyone with a merry:

"Welcome, my affection seeking friends! This is where you'll be staying the next few weeks. Find a place to settle in and get to know each other! I'll be around, in case you need anything."

He genuinely seems to mean it, at least?! But that seems to be it, he'll slip away in the meantime and leave you all to it.

A few things to note, of course:

• There is only one "bedroom" which is a large room, with a closet full of futons to roll out and use in said room. Sleepover time!


• There is an extra, extra, extra, extra large futon for Messmer.


• In one of the rooms of the estate, there is a lovely piano ready for use. Feel free to ask for more instruments, if you'd like.


• The kitchen is filled with food of all kinds and modern appliances so folks can cook whatever they'd like! There is also a bar in the kitchen, stocked with alcohol.


• In the living room, there is a screen showing everyone's profiles. It is touch screen, so feel free to swipe through!


• There is, of course, a banner in the living room reading 有緣千里來相會 (which, for the keen-eyed, translates to "Fate brings together those that are a thousand miles apart"). This was definitely written by the host.


• There is a welcome cake.

"I thi-hee-nk you can do better than that! Try fo-ho-rty/fifty. Ringo can still have ten, since she-hee's my pal, ho."

Fascinating to watch, honestly. Ringo has never bothered with this sort of negotiation.]

[ Aventurine considers this for a moment, before offering a wave of his hand. ]

Alright, fine. Fo-ho-rty/fifty, as you say.

[ ...Not really. He's banking on Jack Frost never finding out he made any money off this idea, but maybe he'll still consider giving Ringo her ten. He can be reasonable. ]

I didn't know demons could be so...materialistic.

[hexensabbat]

[Ringo laughs at that.]

Oh yeah, they're obsessed. You gotta watch out or they'll take you for all the Macca you've got. That's demon currency, for what it's worth.

[An amused huff.

Jack Frost is continuing, "And I want to star in a mov-hee, too! With po-ho-sters! And lights!"]

[ They even have their own currency? Demon economics is absolutely new territory for him. The The Marketing Development Department would have a field day with this. ]

Duly noted. Shall we say my people will be in touch with your people, Jack Frost?

[ Or he's just gonna steal his likeness and run away with the credits. ]

[From the way Ringo is grinning, he might get the impression she suspects.

But Jack Frost does not, and when he's satisfied, she de-summons him.

Poof!]

... So you're not really going to share a cut of the profits with him, huh?

Oh, of course not. Unfortunately, I don't know of any place that will exchange credits for Macca.

[ His hands are tied! ]

[hexensabbat]

[She snorts, amused.]

I'll let you get away with this one, mostly because Jack Frost does not need to get any ideas about cross-universe popularity.

[gamboler]

[ With a sly grin: ]

A pleasure doing business with you, my friend! I'll still offer you your cut, of course.

[ Probably. ]

[hexensabbat]

Don't offer if you're not gonna pay up, by the way.

I know how to collect.

[Sir.]

[gamboler]

Don't you worry, Miss Ringo! I'll pay up when the time comes. I'm a man of my word.

[ ... ]

Except for with demons, I guess.

... Yeah, see, stuff like that makes you sound less than reliable.

It's fine, though. I'm used to that sort of thing.

[gamboler]

To what? Unreliable business partners? You wound me!

[hexensabbat]

To the sorts of people who treat life like it's a gamble or a game. Unimportant, you know.

But then underneath, you guys are usually the softest of the bunch. At least, that's how my friend back home is.

[gamboler]

[ HEY, this is so out of pocket?! He's quick to scoff, waving a dismissive hand. ]

It must simply be a coincidence. I have way too much of a reputation for anyone to consider me "soft".

[ A reputation that he has cultivated for a specific purpose, but that's beside the point. ]

[hexensabbat]

Huh. Guess it's just Saito, then.

[She says, in a tone that loudly says "I don't believe you".]

For the record, "reputation"'s not a great argument for why you're not a nice guy in there, though. [Tapping lightly at his chest, if he allows it.]

[gamboler]

[ Yeah, yeah, he'll prove it to her in time.... (That he's exactly as she suspects, yes.) ]

Hmpf. [ He won't stop her for tapping against his heart, even if he wears a wry smile. ] Aren't people known by their deeds? You'll just have to decide for yourself after a few weeks of knowing me.

[hexensabbat]

Don't worry, that's what I've been planning on doing all along.

[She reaches out to gently press her fist to his shoulder, the lightest of friendly punches.]

Count on it! For now, though, guess we'd better to get back to mingling, huh?
