week one | arrival

The characters will arrive one by one, in whatever vehicle suits them the best to the front of estate. It's a beautiful estate filled with plants and trees and little ponds and all kinds of little hideaways. But it all cumulates at the main house, where they will be dropped off and greeted by a familiar face who stands outside the house and welcomes them in. They will be able to bring one suitcase with items and clothes as well as their pet(s?).

The main thing to notice when you step into the house though is that cameras are everywhere. Despite the many little hideaways of this house, there's no privacy whatsoever. Oh well!

When everyone is gathered together, the host from earlier will greet everyone with a merry:

"Welcome, my affection seeking friends! This is where you'll be staying the next few weeks. Find a place to settle in and get to know each other! I'll be around, in case you need anything."

He genuinely seems to mean it, at least?! But that seems to be it, he'll slip away in the meantime and leave you all to it.

A few things to note, of course:

• There is only one "bedroom" which is a large room, with a closet full of futons to roll out and use in said room. Sleepover time!


• There is an extra, extra, extra, extra large futon for Messmer.


• In one of the rooms of the estate, there is a lovely piano ready for use. Feel free to ask for more instruments, if you'd like.


• The kitchen is filled with food of all kinds and modern appliances so folks can cook whatever they'd like! There is also a bar in the kitchen, stocked with alcohol.


• In the living room, there is a screen showing everyone's profiles. It is touch screen, so feel free to swipe through!


• There is, of course, a banner in the living room reading 有緣千里來相會 (which, for the keen-eyed, translates to "Fate brings together those that are a thousand miles apart"). This was definitely written by the host.


• There is a welcome cake.

Do you want to take this somewhere other than standing awkwardly in front of the profiles? I've been wanting to take a look outside.

[The outdoors, his actual natural habitat...]

I happen to think my posture was perfectly fine, but I'd never turn down the opportunity for fresh air.

Timeskip to the great outdoors? AKA a scenic view of the pond, littered with wild water lilies in full bloom.]

Huh. It really is a beautiful place.

It really is. I can't get over how... tranquil it is.

[ When's the last time she had tranquility?

... Well, probably best not to dwell on it if she can't remember. ]

[Even Verso's been able to indulge in tranquility now and again back home, but he's had more time to work with than her.]

We don't have anything like this in Lumière.

[In terms of the entire aesthetic of the estate and its grounds.]

Really need to try to sear it into memory before we all leave.

We have a month or so.

[ A pause. ]

So let's make sure to really commit it to memory. Unless you want a photo?

[ There's probably a camera somewhere. ]

[His questions about her Persona will be momentarily derailed. Because Verso looks at her, lifting a single brow.]

A photograph?

[He actually had those in his time! They were, ah, of middling quality, but a novelty all the same.]

Why not? Do you... er, have a camera?

Yep! I've got nothing on our official photographer, but a girl's gotta carry around a camera at all times for evidence and proof!

... At all times except for right now!

[ It's.

[Help?? He snorts, a little inelegantly. Her reactions are always so...]

I will forgive you this once since you're supposed to be on vacation anyway.

Should I ask one of those cameramen for one to spare? Or is yours lying around inside? I can go fetch it.

I can go get it myself! My legs are fine!

[Unhooks his arm from her, then.]

[ Off she goes!

At a run. Incredible.

But she'll be back shortly after, camera clutched in her hands. ]

[SO MUCH ENERGY, he's tired just watching her — but that's not a bad thing. Verso thinks having that much enthusiasm is something to be proud of, something to envy.

Anyway, he waits until she returns.]

What, that thing?

Yes? I promise, it takes pictures just fine.

[ Wow. Don't diss it, Verso? ]

[reverso]

[You must realize that his idea of a camera is like a giant box on a wooden tripod, okay.]

I suppose I'll trust you. So where should we start? The pond?

[Gestures vaguely.]

The architecture?

These are for you to take home, so why don't you tell me what's calling out to you the most?

I can take more pictures later! It sounds like you don't see sights like this all that often, after all.

[He's quiet, maybe a flicker of uneasiness passing through him, but then exhales. Straightens again and gestures at the pond.]

Well! If you insist. Uh... I like the water lilies. I think we can get some good shots without falling headfirst into the pond. Probably.
