week one | arrival

The characters will arrive one by one, in whatever vehicle suits them the best to the front of estate. It's a beautiful estate filled with plants and trees and little ponds and all kinds of little hideaways. But it all cumulates at the main house, where they will be dropped off and greeted by a familiar face who stands outside the house and welcomes them in. They will be able to bring one suitcase with items and clothes as well as their pet(s?).

The main thing to notice when you step into the house though is that cameras are everywhere. Despite the many little hideaways of this house, there's no privacy whatsoever. Oh well!

When everyone is gathered together, the host from earlier will greet everyone with a merry:

"Welcome, my affection seeking friends! This is where you'll be staying the next few weeks. Find a place to settle in and get to know each other! I'll be around, in case you need anything."

He genuinely seems to mean it, at least?! But that seems to be it, he'll slip away in the meantime and leave you all to it.

A few things to note, of course:

• There is only one "bedroom" which is a large room, with a closet full of futons to roll out and use in said room. Sleepover time!


• There is an extra, extra, extra, extra large futon for Messmer.


• In one of the rooms of the estate, there is a lovely piano ready for use. Feel free to ask for more instruments, if you'd like.


• The kitchen is filled with food of all kinds and modern appliances so folks can cook whatever they'd like! There is also a bar in the kitchen, stocked with alcohol.


• In the living room, there is a screen showing everyone's profiles. It is touch screen, so feel free to swipe through!


• There is, of course, a banner in the living room reading 有緣千里來相會 (which, for the keen-eyed, translates to "Fate brings together those that are a thousand miles apart"). This was definitely written by the host.


• There is a welcome cake.

Oh, no. I'm fully human. He adopted me and made me into what I am today, but that still doesn't make me a Segyein.

Well, being human is pretty cool as far as I'm concerned. One of the coolest things, actually.

And you're an AI, correct? Does that mean you're fully robotic?

The body's synthetic, but I wouldn't call it robotic. It's a bit more advanced than that.

As for me, as Ringo--I've been given a proper consciousness so as to better accomplish my mission, so that's why I've got a personality and sense of self.

But even so, you said some things are new to you. Some feelings. Some sensations.

[ his hand has absolutely not moved from her waist, though here his fingers drum in a practiced rhythm. ]

Well, sure. I've only had this body for two months, just like the profile says.

So anything to do with physical touch, or taste, or the senses at all is brand new to me.

[She extends a hand, idly brushing it past his cheek, and then toys lightly with a strand of his hair.

She certainly doesn't seem bothered at all by his hand at her waist.]

I'm getting used to some things, of course, but experiencing new stuff like this is fun!

Oh, not because of that. I'm an idol, the most famous one of them all, in the past and present.

Oooh, someone famous! At least, in an alternate dimension to my own.

"The most famous one" is a pretty hefty claim. How do you measure that sort of thing, anyway? The sorts of stadiums you're selling out?

There's a competition, where only the best and brightest can enter. I won last season in a margin that's never been seen in all the past fourty-eight seasons.

And who knows? Maybe I'll compete again, so I can be the first one to achieve victory twice.

[ he is absolutely looking at one of the cameras as he says this, because this will be viral within minutes when it airs- ]

You definitely know how to work those cameras, I'll give you that.

Simply as that, huh? Not like I don't get it, though I guess it might be a bit different for me.

I had a directive. Saving the world, and all of that jazz.

[Or maybe it isn't so different. Her directive was programmed into her, but aren't humans much the same when they have passion for something that drives them?]

Now that that's said and done, I'm figuring out what I wanna do day by day.
