The characters will arrive one by one, in whatever vehicle suits them the best to the front of estate. It's a beautiful estate filled with plants and trees and little ponds and all kinds of little hideaways. But it all cumulates at the main house, where they will be dropped off and greeted by a familiar face who stands outside the house and welcomes them in. They will be able to bring one suitcase with items and clothes as well as their pet(s?).

The main thing to notice when you step into the house though is that cameras are everywhere. Despite the many little hideaways of this house, there's no privacy whatsoever. Oh well!

When everyone is gathered together, the host from earlier will greet everyone with a merry:

"Welcome, my affection seeking friends! This is where you'll be staying the next few weeks. Find a place to settle in and get to know each other! I'll be around, in case you need anything."

He genuinely seems to mean it, at least?! But that seems to be it, he'll slip away in the meantime and leave you all to it.

A few things to note, of course:

There is only one "bedroom" which is a large room, with a closet full of futons to roll out and use in said room. Sleepover time!

There is an extra, extra, extra, extra large futon for Messmer.

In one of the rooms of the estate, there is a lovely piano ready for use. Feel free to ask for more instruments, if you'd like.

The kitchen is filled with food of all kinds and modern appliances so folks can cook whatever they'd like! There is also a bar in the kitchen, stocked with alcohol.

In the living room, there is a screen showing everyone's profiles. It is touch screen, so feel free to swipe through!

There is, of course, a banner in the living room reading 有緣千里來相會 (which, for the keen-eyed, translates to "Fate brings together those that are a thousand miles apart"). This was definitely written by the host.

There is a welcome cake.

I did think you were dressed somewhat flashy for a mere businessman. A gambler suits you better, I think. How is your luck, Monsieur Gambler?

I've never lost a bet, if that tells you anything. I like to think it might help us in the weeks to come. We're all in this together, right?

That we are! We have just arrived so it is probably too soon to ask, but is there anyone you think could be a likely match for yourself?

[ Nico has been lowkey panicking this whole time because Everyone Is Hot. ]

[ The question seems to catch Aventurine somewhat by surprise, even though he's been attempting to deduce that very thing since he arrived. That's the point of all this, isn't it? Yet... ]

I'm afraid the jury is still out on that one. There's a lot to take into consideration...who knows! Maybe it's even you.

[ Said with a winsome wink, ignoring his uncertainty to be shameless instead. ]

[ Well, that reaction is to be expected. They did all just get here and there's a lot to take in. ]

Oh, I would be honored indeed to have a handsome man like you as my match.

[ Oh dear, oh dear, gorgeous, ]

You're so certain, just like that? But we've only just met. For all you know, I'm criminal mastermind plotting world domination, or...maybe I chew with my mouth open.

[ These are crimes on the same level yes. ]

Are you either of those things?

[ Those two very equal things. ]

You'll simply have to get to know me and find out, won't you?

[ We have a little fun being coy. In any case, they've arrived at the joint bedroom now, where Aventurine seems to only be realizing now that they aren't getting individual rooms, but they'll all be sharing one, instead. Not ideal, but... ]

Ah, seems we'll all be getting to know each other well quite quickly, if we're even sleeping in close quarters. There's a joke about strange bedfellows to be made, here...

I suppose I shall.

[ Nico just beams. He likes to have faith in people and likes to see the good in them no matter what. He relishes the chance to meet so many interesting individuals here, Aventurine absolutely included.

He takes a second to take stock of the sleeping arrangements and gives a chuckle. ]

Oh, mon ami, have you not watched the show before? Everyone must always share, in some manner.

I can't say it's reached our corner of the galaxy yet...ah, well. It's not a problem.

[ He's slept in far less welcoming accommodations. It's more the company he's worried about, but he'll manage that, too. ]

So, any concerning sleep habits I should know about? Or am I safe to have you set my bag down at the futon next to yours, friend? Aha, I can be a bit of a babbler, fair warning.

Well. I am usually nocturnal, but if everyone else in the house is diurnal, I will simply need to adjust.

[ That's sure a place to start. ]

[ It. Certainly is... ]

You...sleep during the day? I'll admit, that may make your match-making a little more difficult...

[ But also, why. Plenty of species are nocturnal, but usually not...humans? Maybe he's made too much of an assumption on that part. ]

The sunlight will turn me to ash, so it is something of a necessity.

[ So casual. ]

Non, non, that is garlic.

I am a vampire. We simply cannot exist in Soleil’s light.

Vampire? My apologies, friend. I'm unfamiliar.

[ But very curious! ]

Is that so? Well, I am happy to explain. We vampires are a race of people who, as I mentioned, cannot step foot into the sunlight because it will turn us to ash. We have some few other flaws — we cannot touch silver, nor enter a domicile when we have not been invited. We must feed on the blood of others to live.

[ BREEZING PAST THAT- ]

But in exchange, we are extraordinarily gifted in all else, from our physical prowess to our mastery of magic.

[ Hol up, why he's trying to skip right over the hot part —

I mean, who said that,

His brows inch higher and higher, uncertain if he should buy this out of pocket, but Nico just seems so earnest about it. ]

That's quite the gamut of strengths and weakness, I must say! Should we worry about about you taking a bite in our sleep, I wonder?

[ He teasing. Mostly. ]

[ We can circle back to the hot part if you want. 😉

Oh, no! I would never.

[ Indeed, he’s so genuine it’s hard not to take him at his word. ]

I do not ever feed without permission first. And I would not dare do it in a room full of people. A vampire bite is the sweetest bliss, and I would hate to cause a scene.

[ An incredulous laugh escapes from Aventurine — not because he doesn't believe Nico, but because he does, and that's what feels unbelievable. ]

Is that so? Now I must admit, I'm even more curious. The sweetest bliss for whom?

[ The biter, or the bitten? ]

The bitten party, mostly. Though I am always having fun if my partner is.

[ This is information he will MOST definitely bear in mind... ]

Aha, how considerate of you, Mister Nico. [ switch detected ] I take it our hosts have taken into account your needs while you're here?

[ They may not need to worry about stray bites, but it'd be a shame if he was hungry, too. ]

I do not need to feed as often as a human might need to eat, so for the time being, I am fine.

[ That doesn’t technically answer the question. Either he or their host (or both) might have forgotten to make accommodations for him. It’s fine!! ]

[ So long as it's been taken into account. (Aventurine will be grateful Nico hasn't made accommodations in a few days.)

At last, Aventurine picks out one of the futons, closer to the door, and takes off his hat so he can stake his claim by dropping it down onto the bedding. ]

I think this one will do, if you don't mind dropping my bag here.

[ And just as easily as he picked it up, he sets it down where asked. His own things go on the futon next door, because why not? ]
