The characters will arrive one by one, in whatever vehicle suits them the best to the front of estate. It's a beautiful estate filled with plants and trees and little ponds and all kinds of little hideaways. But it all cumulates at the main house, where they will be dropped off and greeted by a familiar face who stands outside the house and welcomes them in. They will be able to bring one suitcase with items and clothes as well as their pet(s?).

The main thing to notice when you step into the house though is that cameras are everywhere. Despite the many little hideaways of this house, there's no privacy whatsoever. Oh well!

When everyone is gathered together, the host from earlier will greet everyone with a merry:

"Welcome, my affection seeking friends! This is where you'll be staying the next few weeks. Find a place to settle in and get to know each other! I'll be around, in case you need anything."

He genuinely seems to mean it, at least?! But that seems to be it, he'll slip away in the meantime and leave you all to it.

A few things to note, of course:

• There is only one "bedroom" which is a large room, with a closet full of futons to roll out and use in said room. Sleepover time!


• There is an extra, extra, extra, extra large futon for Messmer.


• In one of the rooms of the estate, there is a lovely piano ready for use. Feel free to ask for more instruments, if you'd like.


• The kitchen is filled with food of all kinds and modern appliances so folks can cook whatever they'd like! There is also a bar in the kitchen, stocked with alcohol.


• In the living room, there is a screen showing everyone's profiles. It is touch screen, so feel free to swipe through!


• There is, of course, a banner in the living room reading 有緣千里來相會 (which, for the keen-eyed, translates to "Fate brings together those that are a thousand miles apart"). This was definitely written by the host.


• There is a welcome cake.

[ A good old fashion ice breaker! That's something Serpilia can appreciate in what might otherwise be an awkward fumbling of introductions. She'll wait until he gives the go-head to drop her hands away, and hums for just a second, before-- ]

Seven point seven five. She's a little older than I usually go for, but she's got a mature elegance about her, don't you think?

[She gets it.]

I agree. And we've got such an array of... interesting people that there's surely someone here who prefers that type above all else.

[7.5's a fair rating, he'd say.]

So you'd like someone closer to your own age?

Probably, right? Lots of people prefer the wisdom of age and all that!

[ She thinks it is! ]

Mmm, I guess so, though I'm not about to complain if my perfect match ends up being significantly older.

That's right.

[Maybe.]

So what are you mainly looking for in a partner?

[nrangel]

To be honest, I haven't thought about it all that deeply. Someone good looking that I get along with? Is that too shallow?

[ She laughs, but he did get her to play a game to rate appearances right off the bat, so she figures he can't give her too hard a time. ]

[Actually-]

Not really. Not if you’re just here to have a bit of fun, at least. I’m a little bit of the same; easier to think of this as a four week long vacation with a bit of a puzzle to it.

[nrangel]

[ Her smile is bright at that admission. ]

If that's the case, I think the two of us are going to get along well then. And I happen to love solving puzzles, so I hope a vacation for you involves solving a mystery.

[reverso]

If you mean solving the mystery of who matches with whom? You’ve got yourself a partner.

[Because that’s how detectives work in fiction, right?]

I guess a proper introduction is in order. I’m Verso.

[ She holds her hand out for a handshake. ]

Serpilia. Glad to be working with you on this case.

[Handshake get! His grip is firm but not overtly so; with calloused fingers that seem to imply his rugged look isn't for show.]

Can't wait to have my first solved case under my belt, Serpilia! And you know what we should do to get started?

[ A man who is used to working with his hands? She likes that. Much better than some of the pencil pushers she knows. ]

Well lets start this way.

[ She taps on the screen with the profiles. ]

You had me rate someone, how about we figure out who has your interest too. We can figure out one reaaal quick.

Ha! I had something else in mind, but sure. It's only fair. Should I close my eyes, too?

[nrangel]

Just to make it fair, why not? You have to react immediately, okay?

[reverso]

Deal!

[He closes his eyes!!]

[nrangel]

[ A cheerful humming sound and she very purposefully scrolls to her own profile. He agreed to this, so if he gets himself into trouble, it's on him, right? ]

Okay go!

[reverso]

[He opens his eyes and oh no it’s a trap

But he’s no fool!]

Tricky. Not as angelic as you look, are you? [Quickly-] But those looks are still an eight, I’d say.

[nrangel]

[ And he walked right into it!

She doesn't look even a little apologetic about it. Though she will give an exaggerated sigh at that, like she's sooo disappointed. ]

Just an eight, huh?

[ As if that's not a pretty high number. ]

[reverso]

[And he just looks like his icon here, I'm sorry]

The two remaining points are the mysteries that still need unravelling, that's all.

[nrangel]

I see, so are you saying you're a personality over looks kind of guy?

[ She's giving him a kind spin on this one, because it's in her interest to take it that way too. ]

I think one is important for the initial attraction; the other for longevity.

[That's a safe answer, isn't it.]

But most importantly, that's just me saying I'd like to get to know you better.

[nrangel]

Alright, you've sweet talked your way out of trouble this time, Mister.

[reverso]

Wonderful. [Heh.] I suppose that means a date in our future? Or at least a shared breakfast one of these days, if you're an early riser.

[nrangel]

I'm taking you up on that date, because I'm not that early of a riser if I don't have to be. You better take me somewhere nice.
