week one | arrival
The characters will arrive one by one, in whatever vehicle suits them the best to the front of estate. It's a beautiful estate filled with plants and trees and little ponds and all kinds of little hideaways. But it all cumulates at the main house, where they will be dropped off and greeted by a familiar face who stands outside the house and welcomes them in. They will be able to bring one suitcase with items and clothes as well as their pet(s?).
The main thing to notice when you step into the house though is that cameras are everywhere. Despite the many little hideaways of this house, there's no privacy whatsoever. Oh well!
When everyone is gathered together, the host from earlier will greet everyone with a merry:
"Welcome, my affection seeking friends! This is where you'll be staying the next few weeks. Find a place to settle in and get to know each other! I'll be around, in case you need anything."
He genuinely seems to mean it, at least?! But that seems to be it, he'll slip away in the meantime and leave you all to it.
A few things to note, of course:

A few things to note, of course:
- There is only one "bedroom" which is a large room, with a closet full of futons to roll out and use in said room. Sleepover time!
- There is an extra, extra, extra, extra large futon for Messmer.
- In one of the rooms of the estate, there is a lovely piano ready for use. Feel free to ask for more instruments, if you'd like.
- The kitchen is filled with food of all kinds and modern appliances so folks can cook whatever they'd like! There is also a bar in the kitchen, stocked with alcohol.
- In the living room, there is a screen showing everyone's profiles. It is touch screen, so feel free to swipe through!
- There is, of course, a banner in the living room reading 有緣千里來相會 (which, for the keen-eyed, translates to "Fate brings together those that are a thousand miles apart"). This was definitely written by the host.
- There is a welcome cake.

[He doesn't know what that competition is, precisely, nor the real context for idol. But Verso can read between the lines.]
We've a celebrity on our hands. Don't worry; you can make your name known a second time, I'm sure others here would love to hear you sing.
If that's what you want, anyway.

Though I'll confess this is my first time on this particular brand of TV show.
[ it's okay it's a totally normal competition as per idols in media standards! ]

That's the making of a real performer, I think. Always striving to perform, to put their art out for all to see. And what a stage this is.
[Though he could argue that there'd be various reasons for others to be spotlight adverse, even with creativity in their veins, but he won't.]
What, you mean a... dating show?

crosses my fingers behind my back. ]
Why thank you. [ nod. ]
Right. I've done many interviews, dramas, and even a comedy or two.

What of yourself?
no subject
So-so? I've been out of the dating game for a while.

Surely not. Someone as popular as you?

[ he even brings his hand to his chest, stopping just short of making his words a reality. ]
I haven't had the time for it, nor the mind.
no subject
No? So what's changed?

[ the top is only the top before you reach it, and then it's on to new heights. ]

And now you're going to throw your hat into the ring of love and romance. That's a whole different beast than music, you know.

[ maybe he's even written a song or two about a certain someone? the thought floats through his mind like a petal in the wind, but it's already swept away in his next breath. ]
But if that's an offer to mentor me, I'll listen.
no subject
[Something about that makes him chuckle. Oh, yes, the people here seem definitely suited to a dating game...]
Is the part where I pretend that I'm an expert in the art of wooing and flirt shamelessly in return?

[ live your best life!!!! ]

[But he shrugs and rounds the piano to the front.]
But I prefer to do things a little more sincerely. [(lmao)] Room for two to sit?

Come on. Let's play together for a bit.

[ he'll return the melody with something equal with ease. ]
no subject
He wants to hear what he comes up with.]

The melody flows organically. In a few minutes' time, he wraps it up with a little trill of a flourish.]
C'est joli. [Pleased.] Ah, we should have written the progression down.
[But alas nothing to write with!!!]
no subject
But I should have no problem remembering it, either way.
[ this sounds like a brag but he doesn't even mean for it to be one, for once. ]

[Taps his temple. is it tho]
