The characters will arrive one by one, in whatever vehicle suits them the best to the front of estate. It's a beautiful estate filled with plants and trees and little ponds and all kinds of little hideaways. But it all cumulates at the main house, where they will be dropped off and greeted by a familiar face who stands outside the house and welcomes them in. They will be able to bring one suitcase with items and clothes as well as their pet(s?).

The main thing to notice when you step into the house though is that cameras are everywhere. Despite the many little hideaways of this house, there's no privacy whatsoever. Oh well!

When everyone is gathered together, the host from earlier will greet everyone with a merry:

"Welcome, my affection seeking friends! This is where you'll be staying the next few weeks. Find a place to settle in and get to know each other! I'll be around, in case you need anything."

He genuinely seems to mean it, at least?! But that seems to be it, he'll slip away in the meantime and leave you all to it.

A few things to note, of course:

There is only one "bedroom" which is a large room, with a closet full of futons to roll out and use in said room. Sleepover time!

There is an extra, extra, extra, extra large futon for Messmer.

In one of the rooms of the estate, there is a lovely piano ready for use. Feel free to ask for more instruments, if you'd like.

The kitchen is filled with food of all kinds and modern appliances so folks can cook whatever they'd like! There is also a bar in the kitchen, stocked with alcohol.

In the living room, there is a screen showing everyone's profiles. It is touch screen, so feel free to swipe through!

There is, of course, a banner in the living room reading 有緣千里來相會 (which, for the keen-eyed, translates to "Fate brings together those that are a thousand miles apart"). This was definitely written by the host.

There is a welcome cake.

[ She repeats the word back curiously, head tilting. Person who never has known French people even existed. It's fine.

Anyways, she hasn't looked very closely at her own profile, so she leans over to peek at the screen based on his words, giving him a small nod. ]

Does it really say that? I'm blushing, [ no she isn't, but she says it demurely anyway, ] I do enjoy it. Interested in hearing it, are you?

[ The teasing is laid on thick with this one!! ]

Oh! It is a term for polite address where I come from. "Mademoiselle." It means "miss."

[ He's got manners! ]

Oh, if you would grace me with a song, I most certainly would not say no. There is a piano in the house if you are in need of accompaniment!

[ Oh! Her expression brightens in understanding — wow, dramatic and polite. He's really like a young lord! ]

Between you, Luka, and Verso, I won't ever be lacking in duet partners, it seems.

[ They ought to all work together and make a performance worthy of the stage, in her opinion. ]

I won't say no to playing together — it'd be a nice way to get to know each other, don't you think? Though I'm wondering what brings a young lord like you to a show like this...

We are a house full of musicians, it seems!

[ Furina can come too. A whole performing troupe for the rest of the contestants. ]

I am of the mind that music can tell you a lot about a person. What sorts of songs do they like? What does a certain piece make them feel? They are all windows into the soul.

[ Oh, but... as for that last thing... ]

Ah, that. I am sorry to disappoint, but any standing I once had has long been stripped from me. I am in exile, you see.

Oh...

[ She blinks — she hadn't even been trying to be literal with the term, having been used to addressing all the customers who came by the Wisteria Pavilion as 'lords' and 'ladies.' Perhaps for him especially, it really could have been believable, given his manner of dress. Either way, she seems not only surprised, but regretful that she stumbled upon this fact.

Exile. It sounds so terribly lonely. ]

Standing and status don't stand the test of time, [ She muses, surprisingly wise for how playful and light she'd been acting moments before. Then, she gently scolds him, like he's just being silly. ] I'm only just starting to get to know you, remember? Don't go thinking you've left a bad impression already.

[ He’s grateful for her understanding, if nothing else, and the gentle way she teases him makes him smile – a little dimmer than his usual sunshiny looks, but genuine all the same. ]

Aha, I understand how I appear. I would hate to disappoint someone who is looking for a match with status. To not say anything would be dishonest of me.

You are very sweet, Mademoiselle.

Mm... fine silks and jewels don't make a lifelong commitment. Anyone looking for status is sure to learn that while we're here.

[ Not that she really knows on what criteria the actual matches are based on.. but she feels confident that anyone with that as their guiding compass is misguided already. Playing at being shy and demure to lighten the mood: ]

You're making me blush, though, [ Her cheeks are always rosy, at least when she's in the house and not lounging about in her tree... She says it regardless, though. Yingying has fun playing a certain role, from being charming and playful to the perfect, pure love interest. ] I'm only being honest, that's all~

Goodness. Beautiful and wise. It is a wonder someone such as yourself is here at all.

[ He offers her an arm. ]

Would you care to join me for a walk? I cannot go outside, but a tour of the house will be nice with lovely company.

[ Yeah, why is someone like her at this competition.... let's not talk about it. She takes his arm readily, clearly used to being walked around just like this. If he's really observant, he'll realize she leans into him more than a normal person might, her gait somewhat weak. ]

You can't go outside? Oh, then you can't see the wisteria... [ That's a shame... well, she'll just have to bloom more flowers in here, then. ] I haven't explored much of the house, so do show me the way, sweetheart. Too many things are unfamiliar to me, hehe...

If you do not mind waiting until after sunset, I would be happy to tour the gardens with you as well. If I were to go out into the sun, I would simply turn to ash and perish.

[ He's so casual about admitting that. ]

In the meantime, I shall do my very best to be the perfect inside guide!

[ Turn to ash and perish..... hello?? She blinks, a look of surprise taking over again. ]

Hm? Turn to ash? [ nico might have said it casually but that is slightly alarming to her, having never heard of that happen to anyone, or anything for that matter. ] Is that something common from where you come from...?

Oh, oui. I am a vampire. That is how it works for us.

[ mom said it was MY turn to be the vampire in an ayto game. ]

"Vampire"...?

[ sadly she is culturally ignorant to the concept of vampires and has NO idea what he's talking about... are verso and furina vampires as well, they all share the same language?!??!?! ]

What is that? I've never heard that word before.

Then allow me to explain, Mademoiselle. We are a race of people who excel in nearly every way, from our senses to our strength to our mastery of magic and technology. However, we are not without our flaws. We cannot set foot into the sunlight, cannot touch silver, and cannot enter any domicile we have not been invited into.

[ This is a lot Nico. ]

But most of all, we feed on the blood of humans to survive.

[ THIS IS A LOT NICO. ]

Hmm... so, you're more like a type of spirit...

[ Or other supernatural being? She looks him up and down, thinking that he doesn't look anything like the fiends and monsters she's come across. Feeding off living humans — that's not terribly far off from aspects of her own magic, so who is she to judge?

It is a bit of a shock, though. ]

How are you managing to stay fed here, then? [ a beat. ] Help from the others?

[ That's essentially what she's been doing to sustain herself, so that wouldn't surprise her. ]

I do not need to eat as often as a human might, so I am fine for the time being. If I am in need, I will ask for help.

[ Someone here will probably be gracious enough to offer a cup or so. He's not going to ask someone to outright bite them unless the circumstances are. Uh. Specific. ]

I do not take without asking.

[ Her smile turns a little quiet, more genuine and to herself for a beat — Nico really is a good person. That's a relief.]

I guess you could say I'm a bit like you.... I need to borrow energy from others here and there, or else I'll sleep all the time. [ why might that be? let's not worry about it ] Plenty of people have been willing to help... I'm sure they'll feel the same way. So try not to worry about it too much.

[ from where her hand is on his arm, she gives him a gentle pat!! ]

Is that so? Might I ask why you are afflicted so? Are you also not human?

[ There are so many people here from so many worlds, it’s hard to tell by scent and pulse alone. His senses can’t make heads or tails of most of the other guests. ]

[ She gives him a coy, playful wink, evasive. The only thing he'll be able to tell by scent alone is that she smells only of wisteria — the scent is so potent it's almost intoxicating, especially up close to her. ]

Have any ideas, sweetheart? Do I seem otherworldly to you?

[ She's curious! And also a hard to pin down woman (in more ways than one). ]

[ She did say something about a wisteria, so it isn’t too far of a stretch to realize that she must be connected to the tree in some way. Why not? There have been stranger things. ]

Otherworldly in your beauty, for certain. As for the rest… I shall simply have to see what I learn on this stroll, oui?
