It really feels like we're somewhere else, somehow...

[ Happily letting Yingying hold onto her. ]

It's virtual reality! [ She's helping. ] It's okay, the walls are still gonna show up, they're programmed in there. So you aren't going to walk into them or anything.

[ And she'll take a step back, trying to get into Yingying's field of virtual reality vision, though she won't let go of her hand or anything. ]

I should show up too. Do you see me?

[ Waving with her free hand, which is also holding her laser tag gun. Just. Waving! And not shooting!! ]

[ It doesn't show in the virtual reality, but her eyes are definitely the size of dinner plates, as she watches Poppy enter her field of vision. This is all so... strange... ]

I see you! You look different...

[ Whatever her avatar in this space, it's distinct from Poppy's real self. ]

It's a bit like an illusion, right? [ this is the only way she can understand it... ] It's not entirely real, but you can still see it.

[ It's cute, the way Yingying's charm comes through her voice only. She's just an avatar here, nothing distinctive — not even wisteria — but Poppy can still hear the soft, pleasant awe to her voice, in stark contrast to her own exuberance. ]

Kind of, yeah! If we weren't standing in the same room I'd be able to put my hand through your avatar, but it's nicer like this right now.

[ Since... well, how much longer do they have left physically together, anyway? She'll give their hands a little swing. ]

A lot of the environment around us isn't real though, but it can get disorienting, since your brain might think it is.
