I went through something that wasn't exactly pleasant and I lost a lot of things as a result of that, but in the end, I got the chance to show that our lives weren't just something to bet on and gamble with. I don't regret that, or the memories I have of a time that never happened.

[eyes her for one loooong moment, before he sighs and pulls up a tiny smile]

Okay. Then. . . I'm really glad you feel that way, despite everything that happened to you.

. . . you know, I'm currently traveling myself. I think I told you that, right?

[because it'd be. . . nice. to have a partner right there with him, bravely venturing across the globe for no other reason than to just experience things]

. . . I think sometimes it gets kind of lonely on the road.

[he'll have Rom, of course. that will help. and he'd like to take Rom travelling one day, too. if. . . he could drag him away from his exorcist duties for long enough. that would mean a lot to him.]

Maya had a specific taste for the kind of adventure that Edamura does. the urge to see the world, and all that it has to offer. and considering how much he has come to enjoy her company in the short time they've been together. . . he still thinks they'd be good for each other, in that specific way]

It'd be nice, if we could keep each other company. For just a little while.
