AN ANNOUNCEMENT

[ He is here and actually dressed in modern clothes today. Doesn't he look cute? Anyway, he's very happy with himself and is twirling his flute between his fingers as he waits for everyone to arrive.

And when they do, he bounces on his feet a little in excitement. ]

Okay! So, some of you asked me for a hint and an extra truth booth, and I asked production about it and this is what they've agreed to give you.

You may get one hint and it can be about a specific contestant but to do so, you need to vote on one by Wednesday. After the vote, I will come back on Wednesday and give you your hint so you can use it to make your choices for the Truth Booth on Friday.

Now we must figure out who would give us the best chances of putting the rest together. Our biggest outliers, so to speak.

. . . if we continue with the assumption that Poppy and Yingin, Rom and I, and Maya and Aventurine were our lights from last week, then we should use it on. . . either Messmer, Odile, Serpilia, Shoko, Luka or Yi Sang. Right?

That seems correct to me, but that still leaves us quite quite the pool. I know many different combinations were tossed around after the ceremony, and I am not sure how... well, sure anyone is about their guesses.

My gut still says it's Messmer and Odile, Serpilia and Shoko, and Luka and Yi Sang.

[please ask him how many times his gut has led him astray]

I think it might be a good idea to use it on Luka or Serpilia. Neither of them got picked in the first or third weeks, so we don't have very many times that they've sat with someone intentionally.

In which case, we should probably continue focusing on our biggest unknowns. From all the chatter, I think that may be Messmer and Odile.

That is my thought as well. Perhaps if their hint does not point to each other, we can send the other to the booth.

Last I recall, the contestants we seem most uncertain about at this point are Miss Odile and Lord Messmer, yes? In which case, I would put in my vote for Miss Odile. We unfortunately don't know the exact scope of this hint we're about to receive -- there's a chance it may something as broad as just the gender of their potential match. In which case, Lord Messmer might be a poor choice, as he sounds fairly confident that his match will not be a ... [ ... ] yaoi, while there is still some room for questioning for Miss Odile, no? Do correct me if I'm wrong.

You aren't wrong. I could feasibly be with either, as I have no real preference and could see my match being either or.

Oh, Odile might be a good choice. The hint may help us figure out if it's really her and Yi Sang, or if our other assumptions about this week's pairs are right.

But Messmer seems like a good idea, too.

Lord Messmer would certainly be my other pick for a hint, but ... it's difficult to know for sure without any idea of what exactly this hint will be, isn't it? I doubt the production would be so generous as to tell us exactly who their match would be, but otherwise, I imagine any information is fair game.

Mm, it could be something like whether they're a man or a woman... or, it might be like those envelopes that we saw in the onsen. A fact about that person, or something that happened to them in the past...

[ That'd necessitate people coming forward to say the information applied to them, though, and that's not a guarantee. And even then, it might apply to multiple people. Yingying hums. ]

In case of the latter, we'd just need to be honest with everybody.

Aah, those envelopes.

[ Huh. He hadn't thought of those. A little cant of the head and an owlish blink, gaze cast aside as he runs what he remembers of them over in his head. ]

An astute suggestion, Miss Yingying. ... it didn't sound like the contents of those envelopes was too bad, back then. But I suppose there's no guarantee a hint would be something innocuous. If it's something the individual truly wishes to hide, we may have to rely on connecting the dots from what they've said to other people during dates and such.
