Well, I traded chains and a death sentence for bureaucracy and red tape, so it depends on how you look at it. [ A little put-upon sigh, once again saying so much with the expectations he's set up, and what goes unsaid. ] I've certainly seen my fair share of the universe since I joined the Strategic Investment Department, at the very least.
[ People who see the stars aren't imprisoned, right? Neither are those who wear fine clothes and gold watches, who have more wealth than they know what to do with. He's no slave anymore...
[ The times are good, the music is loud, and Verso is hot. Any angst can be saved for the designated angst period, and she will remain blissfully oblivious. ]
Yeah!! That sounds perfect! We can be like, the ultimate globetrotters! Only for dancing!
Poppy reaches up to feel the crown suddenly placed on her head, looking up at what she can see from her limited viewpoint. Choosing to look at Shoko instead, both a little flushed (from the heat? And not the title? Yeah, sure, she'll go with that) and feeling impossibly sappy at the same time.
So, while they're in line is the perfect time for a kiss, she figures. ]
Why, thank you. Your queen graciously accepts.
[ She takes a second to look around. ]
We should find you an orb or a staff or something, huh... maybe an orb on top of a staff!
[ Luka can mess with a sitcom character at his own peril.
Meanwhile, she is continuing to blink up at him β at least until the oohs and ahhs reach her and inadvertently fuel her own ego, even though she really did nothing here.
So, god help her, she smiles up at him, devious. ]
Well then, keep going.
[ Let everyone continue to see how awesome they are she is!! ]
[When put this way, a part of him thinks it would be beneficial for one sachet to remain here, in the hands of someone who will go on to engage many a client. Combined with the rest she'll gift to their cohort, her blessing will spread far and wide, keeping the memory alive. Even though she'll soon fade if nothing is done, she's still doing everything in her power to preserve her beloved home with little thought for herself.
An endless struggle . . . like a chicken that is unable to fly, yet continues to flap its wings . . .
Stirred out of his ruminations by their finished order, he takes the drinks with an appreciative nod and turns to Yingying.]
Now you get it. Isn't this better than a planetarium?
[ a better partner would tell her to hang on, but he does not. what luka does do is grin back, move them to the center of the room and then he lifts her.
strike a pose poppy!
luka is a twink yes, but his physical training was all highly tailored to make sure he could do things like this. ]
[ Look at all these fun activities they have lined up... even if it might not show so readily, Shoko is having fun. It's hard not to, with Poppy. Poppy, who looks so adorable and pretty in her outfit and flower crown...
Yeah. She'll steal another kiss while they keep waiting for lemonade. But they do manage to finally procure some before long, along with a ye olde tankard to drink it from, to which Shoko wastes no time in adding a generous helping of vodka from her flask. ]
[ She could still object β being able to just sit and not do anything in a planetarium while looking at pretty colours might win out over being swung around, actually β but objecting is difficult, on account of the whole being swung around thing without warning. ]
Whβ aaaahh!
[ She does not strike a pose. She's more just holding onto him very awkwardly. And she can't even say anything because she literally told him to keep going.
So she's just going to kind of stand there and ruin Luka's rizz, probably. ]
[ ...so he's actually really used to his partners being π§ββοΈ, so he knows how to completely sell this; by being extra himself, which involves lower her to the ground with one hand while he strikes a sensual pose.
there is no losing in a performance if luka is your partner. ]
[ Shoko is not only sticking with her, but going along with everything she's saying, so Poppy is just assuming she's having fun. The time for doubts and insecurities is over! They fucked!! And are still going out!! And kissing!!! Life is good.
She laughs at how much vodka ends up in the lemonade, taking a healthy swig andβ Oh. Oooh, she's feeling that immediately, looking up at Shoko with a dopey smile. ]
Your turn, sorceress. Your potion would appear to be most effective.
[ She sing songs, very innocently, resting her cheek on a hand. Playing coy never gets old. Besides, at this point in the game, there's sadly only crumbs to report on, woe is her. ]
There's not anything special going on for me just yet, sweetheart. Despite my best efforts...~
[ Ohhh here she goes back down to the ground again. Poppy just kind of goes limp, like she's accepted her fate. This is happening. (And Luka isn't going to drop her, because that would be way too big a blow to his pride.)
That command, though.
...
She sticks her tongue out at him instead, which I tragically do not have an icon for, ]
[ It's probably for the best that he's being normal in this universe.
Up she goes to a regular step; in her tongue goes, back in her mouth. She's being civilized again, making some kind of an attempt to match his steps. ]
She's too conflicted in her innate dislike for Luka and apparent ability to pity him both, so Poppy just snaps her mouth shut and follows his lead (not that she has much of a choice).
[ That smile... She can't help it, but she leans in quickly just to press a kiss to the corner of that dopey smile before taking the tankard for herself. She tags arguably a bigger swig than Poppy, but seems completely fine... ]
Too bad, as a sorceress, I'm immune to my own potion.~
[ It's hard to say from beings that aren't designed to have facial expressions. Then again, they're also not usually designed to have nerve endings, so they're probably in the clear on this one.
She does frown a little at Yi Sang's choice of words, not sure how to feel about that, but she doesn't comment on it right now. ]
It doesn't seem like they're distressed, but I admit I'm not that well versed at reading robots.
